Is there any items you can equip or potions you can drink to enhance your chances of making a pristine quality combine?

Those guides are all current, except for The Three Keys To Success which still applies. I guess I didn't get your question, sorry.

There are no potions or totems which directly affect your crafting. Many people use them to control power consumption, but they have no affect on the crafting process.

The only things which directly affect the crafting process are the Tradeskill Arts. You get three Arts every Tier, and they alternate Progress and Durability (Tier1 = Progress, Tier 2 = Durability).

All +crafting items affect either your skill by increasing it or your % chance of success. You still have to push the buttons. I know of no items from the City Merchants that have +crafting on them.

Looking at your last post, I highly recommend a close read of Understanding the Arts or Power to the Pristine - It's all about the buttons. There are lots of right ways to apply your Arts, and some definately wrong ways. Once you figure it out it's not difficult at all.

You could always become a follower of Brell and have the +5000 miracle that instantly makes any combine pristine.

Thanks for trying to help, its not you that is confusing me it's the link. This one is the only one I can view ATM. And keep in mind I am a 70 chemist and none of this makes any sence to me. For example:

Don't mindlessly pound your durability buffs

Why would I do that, and what buffs is she talking about?

Don't craft rares when you are too tired

Tired? Myself or my toon?

Reduce your power profile by taking off as many items as you can

What the heck is she talking about, power profile?

I wear the artisan clothes that can be purchased using status points from the city merchant when crafting.

You said these did not exist?

Wear power regenerating items if you have them such as the Efreeti Boots (Saving Soles Heritage Quest) or a Pristmatic (Deception Quest) weapon.

Huh? Why, I never even come close losing power?? I am always at full power during crafting, In fact I did not even know crafting took power, until now

Try to hit your buffs at least once during each quality level

Again I have no idea what she is talking about buffs??? She mean the counters? I thought you only hit them when the icon appears?

Do push progress. The longer it takes to make something, the greater your chance of failure.

Huh? Progress is automatic, I have no control over how fast the bar moves?? All I can do is hit the counters when the icon appears everything else is up to soe

Conserve your power to the end, you may need it to keep your durability up.

How is power an issue when crafting again?

Use all your buffs including your progress buff at each quality level, including pristine. If you pound only on your durability buffs, you may actually increase your chance of a failure.

I have no idea what she is talking about,,,quality level? Pound durability buffs? What does that mean?

This is all greek to me...here is my biggest question: IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE TO DO WHILE CRAFTING OTHER THEN COUNTER THE ICONS THAT POP UP,,,ALL 3 OF THEM???

Too bad, I think the Understanding The Arts guide would answer all your questions. I have no idea which guide you're quoting there. One of the reasons I post several is people learn (and explain) in different ways. "Buffs" = your tradeskill arts. Those buttons you push to counter an event. When *you* are too tired. Lack of attention is probably the major reason people loose pristine. Power Profile = how big your power pool is vs. how much regen you can get. If you don't have a problem with power, this does not apply to you. Ack. The more I go through your questions, the more I remember why I wrote my Guide. Please access it sometime; I'm assuming it's blocked from where ever you're browsing from because the link is working fine. I have a question: how did you get to lvl 70 Alchemist and not know about using your Arts proactively? This means using them even when there's not an event to counter. Hitting your Arts only when there's an event to counter is one of the wrong ways to be successful getting pristine all the time. You *do* know that at level 70 you have SEVEN sets of Arts, right?

Perhaps he meant level 70 Chemistry skill, and not level 70 Alchemist? I don't see how anyone wouldn't stab their eyes with a spork grinding to level 70 without knowing what arts did and leaving it up to the RNG what quality would come out

Ah, perhaps. If that's so, I'll bet anything this will help: Look in your knowledge book (press K, and click the Tradeskills tab). You got a new set of Arts (you've been calling them counters) at level 10. These do not replace your old ones. Use them in addition to the ones you started with. use your Arts when there's nothing to counter. Examine them, they all do different things.

ugh! how frustation,,,i just have one question,,,and one question only and i am not lashing out, at you personally just frustated that no one is answering it

IS THERE ANYTHING MORE DO TO WHILE CRAFTING OTHER THEN HIT THE ICONS TO COUNTER THE EVENTS?

Yes. Hit the Arts when there are no events to counter. Otherwise, no.

If an icon shows up that needs countering, hit that on first but still hit the other two as well. Do this and power management will come into play - I keep the tier one power using buff (it is a progess one) on my toolbar in case my power gets to be a problem (it uses little power, but still counters events).

If you lose a lot of progress, hit at least 1 of your buffs that increases progress again. If you start getting lots of critical failures, sometimes the RNG hates you and this will happen several times in a row, you will need to start hitting your + durability buffs, all of them until your durability bar is back at a comfortable level.

You never just hit the buffs when the reaction pops up in the Tradeskill window. If you are just doing that you might as well just hit the start button and go get yourself a drink then hit it again when you get back. You'll get about the same results.

There are some items, as it has already been said, that can increase your skill or your % chance of a successful combine. None of them will help though if you aren't actively working your tradeskill arts.
