Hello fellow Scouts, i am new to Eq2 and thought about starting to play a scout. My first choices are Swashbuckler or Assassin. I read alot in the forums over the last three days, but so far nothing is really helping me. I want to focus on PvP mainly. So equally equipped, played with the same skill, and using pvp AA built, which class, do you guys think, is better in a PvP fight. I know it may depends on the class of the person I am fighting and alot of other things. But here are the things I cant compare due to my lack of game experience. 1. How long are fights later on in the Game when I am lvl 70? Does the Swashis overall dmg will be better in a PvP fight than the extreme dmg peak of the Assassin? 2. How much does the Assassin need to rely on his Skills with long cooldowns (15 min, and 5 min)? Do i need to take a break untill my timers are up again? Or is an Assassin able to PvP without them pretty good? I like the description of both alot and i watched a little into their skills. So its not something which I would like to play more its just the fun for my beeing able to PvP alot and dont need to have major waiting untill my skilltimer are back up. Anybody out there who would share his expierence with me? I would be really greatfull if somebody would help me out. Thanks guys and I hope to see you soon ingame. Xathar

Swashy is better. The assassin does most of their damage in back attacks. Edit : brigand is still even better than swashy, though.

Swashy > Assassin.

Swashy can do as much if not more damage than assassin, has 10X the debuffs, and has extreme spike dmg when all teh short buffs are up.

Not to mention you don't have to have your enemies back to deal significant damage.

But when Kunark comes out, Assassin's will hopefully regain their rightful place as elite DPS and swashies will get NERFED into oblivion!

Assassins are a dime a dozen. Raiding guilds are looking for brigs/swashies. No one is recruiting assassins.

yea Swashies are a much better thought out class with tons of flexiblity and utility.

One of the best classes to be out there. They do it all, and well.

not that Assassins are all that bad, just Swashies are ellite.

Okay obviously no one has a real clue about T7 PvP here.... If you want a pvp class then swashbuckler with the correct AA lines set up will obliterate most classes hands down. Assassin has no need for Back attacks all the main attacks are not positional.. You have one back attack with mid-low damage that requires stealth and one link to stealth that requires side/back... and one debuff that deals adequate damage.

Other than that its getting into stealth in combat that is the main problem in pvp. As for Brigs > Swash... not anymore, A good swash will still role an equally equipped Brig now.
