STA question

So, I've been looking around on EQ2players about hps and tank setups. For some reason, even with good armor and decent jewelry, I'm sitting at 463 STA when others on my server with a lot worse gear (pvp server) have 100 more STA then I do. I'm STR/INT speced (so in theory I could be missing ~50 STA if they are STA speced in full). Your bow and pants are atleast 50 of it. And Sta line - there's 100, no offense here I am not trying to bash you but for having set guardian pieces quite a few of pieces of your gear suck.

Look at my stamina (not with wrist adornments and stuff either of course). So I respeced and maxed out the AA choice for +STA. Also, added the +STA adornment as well as the EH crafted forearms. Guess I just gotta get some jewelery, the PHH belt, and the bow off Seriak and I'll be set. Are you guys all using the Malkonis ring?

malkonis rewards are better off for healers/casters/sk's/bards i seem to be doing fine with both cheldrak rings/ reward and loot, i like the 5% ca haste. as far as cheldrak ring, waiting on some upgrade but i'd only take malkonis as a "well my lvl 2templar can loot the head" kind of thing.

You should take the freaking ring. Unless you really want the severed wolf paw. I still rock the ring from Malkonis and I will probably until the next expansion. Knotted Ring is barely an upgrade and we already have our matrons heart.</p><p>I'm  sorry Auron but the argument it's better for other classes is laughable. Holy [Removed for Content] 10 more DPS mod for 20 seconds every 5 mins. 20+ more to healing. Or we could add on 100 hp to the MT. (Maybe not as much) Eventually everyone will get it. But equip the MT first, jesus christ. Then the ST.  The ring is basically the best in the game that can be attained.</p><p>Fragment of Chime = Avatars</p><p>Knotted Ring = Treah (we've never even seen it)</p><p>Bottom line is take the ring you are going to use it for a long [Removed for Content] time.</p>

preference then, i prefer to have resists on my rings,(even tho one of my rings is 4winds, zero resists) true a lot of aoes are distance based, negating resists but there are some still out there, get it if you can? sure fth can be cleared what? 5-6x a month? if your running jagged bands, then yes good upgrade, any other 100+hp w/ sta ring on you... i'd hesitate.

One reason you may seem to have less hitpoints than many tanks may be racial choice (ogres and dorfs have a racial trait that gives them an extra 3% (?)). Also STA is not the be-all-and-end-all, raw hitpoints on an item will often give more to your total health than high STA+low health items (things like the music box from PP). - Khurghan Ironstay
