View Full Version : Suggestion for discussion: Remove "No-Trade" from all item drops that spawn quests

Maybe it's just me, but I don't understand why any quest starter drop item would ever be no-trade. I think they all should be *LORE* items mind you, but I think it would be beneficial to everyone if they were all tradeable and thus sellable as well. This way, if you've already done the dropped item quest and you get another one to drop (or, perhaps, you just care nothing about doing the quest in the first place), you can either pass it along to a guildmate or put it up on the broker and make a little money off of it while in turn others who might be questaholics (like myself) have a second outlet to be able to pick up a quest other than mob grinding trying to get one to drop.....or otherwise might not be able to if a certain zone has greyed out to you (without mentoring anyway). Thoughts? Comments? Verbal abuse?

As much as it is an annoyance to have to hunt down quest starters, I believe the current system is fine. I think we are lucky that some quest starters (screaming mace for example) is tradeable. If all the items were lore and able to be traded it would take away another difficult part of the game like getting those stupid pieces.

Well, I have to totally disagree with you on this issue. For the record, I do understand wanting to keep challenge/difficulty in the game in areas where it really pointedly matters and agree with you there....like actually *doing* or *completing* a quest. But just to actually even pick up a quest in the first place, there's absolutely no reason nor sense to make it so isolationary or prohibative. Making them all lore would ensure they couldn't be farmed en masse, but making them all tradable helps everyone across the board and hurts absolutely no one.

It would be a slap in the face to those of us who made the effort to find all those quests starters.

for quests that start from an item drop getting the item is part of the quest itself essentially.

This could be fixed by having all quest drops be body loot.

I agree that getting the quest drop is part of the quest itself, but it sucks that so many mobs will be grey'd out before they even drop the item your killing them for.
