<p>Was runnin around with a group doin some L&L quests when I gained the title "Accomplished Hunter". After that I made a little comment "What would happen if devs tied in titles to our Mastery Strikes?". </p><p>Thought I would bring that comment here and see what you guys think of it. The only thing that would have to be modified is making it so creatures that are green to you give you kill counts. This would prevent gankers from running around newbie zones padding their ranks. </p><p>Each rank could add 50-100 points of damage and if you make it to the highest rank you get a usual amount + a bonus amount like 200 or so. </p><p>One thing this might do is encourage mentoring of level 70s to new players. It would give them increased ranks and help out the new players in the process learning from advanced/veterans. </p><p>Another thing that could be done is give it diversification. This could be done by allowing players to pick a certain skill to upgrade at each selected rank. </p><p>Tanks: Increase damage, Add a taunt (amount increasing to a max of 15% for that creature *every time the creature strikes a person in rage mode They are taunted for X amount*), or add in a small defensive bonus +10 defense or Parry players choice. </p><p>Scout: Increase damage, increase mitigation reduction, add in an avoidance proc decreasing threat level, or add in a DoT. </p><p>Healer: Increase damage, Increase skill debuff, add in healing proc decreasing threat level, or add in a minor divine, cold, heat, poison, disease debuff *max of 200pts*. </p><p>Mage: Increase damage, add in damage proc decreasing threat level by 10 points per hit *lasts 20 seconds, max of 100 at highest rank*, add in a mental, heat, cold, poison, disease debuff *800 point max*, or add in a base damage spell enhancer that augments spells by 10pts *at max level this can go to 1% overall*. </p><p>Sorry if I just gave the devs heart attacks with this idea, but just thought it may add in some more diversifying. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p>

<p>Nope, good suggestion. Have wondered about this myself. If you read the books associated with the L&L quests many state this will help you create an understanding and knowledge to defeat your foe. This was the premise of a discussion which may have had some impact on the devs tying the L&L to the Master Strikes in the first place. </p><p>I think expanding this to upgrade the master strikes based on your title of accomplished killing of that foe is the next logical progression. After all, there is a big difference in killing 500 for Hunter and 10,000 for Destroyer. Destroyers who have completed the L&L should get a little extra umphf! in that strike.</p><p>That said, I see a lot more effort required in what you are suggesting and while I agree with it. A simpler implementation for the moment may be to leave the current system but based on the title you have earned to upgrade the Master you have earned for it. This would allow for 4 tiers of Master Strikes:</p><ul><li>Tier 1: earned by L&L alone (Adept I)</li><li>Tier2: earned by Tier 1 and Hunter title (Adept III)</li><li>Tier3: earned by Tier 2 and Slayer Title (Master I)</li><li>Tier4: earned by Tier 3 and Destroyer (Master II)</li></ul><p>There are my thoughts..nice job on the idea~</p>

I myself have no ranking when it comes to Cyclops or Djinn, but as far as Orcs, Gnolls, and Undead I have a pretty high ranking. </p><p>Either way you look at it i'm basically saying it would be nice to see our Titles tied into it. As you say there is a big difference between a person who has killed *or studied* 500 of those beasts and someone who killed *studied* 10,000. </p>
