What is this new gate in Commonlands? (Pic inside.)

So while running around scaring newbies on my warg <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />  (not really) -- I came across this interesting new excavation : <a href="http://img262.imageshack.us/my.php?image=eq2_cl_gate_002.jpg" target="_blank" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://img262.imageshack....pg" border="0"></a> <a href="http://img262.imageshack.us/my.php?image=eq2_cl_gate_001.jpg" target="_blank" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://img262.imageshack....pg" border="0"></a> It's being done by the Freeport Militia so I don't think it's anything to do with Neriak ... actually ... looks like it's a tunnel to Nektulos ... or a zone next to it ...

<p>The Freeport Milita has also taken over the Academy of arcane science.  Lvl 75 NPC is standing outside now saying that the Milita has taken over the Academy and are searching for clues on the Foci stealing some state property.</p><p>Sounds like the SoD questline and since its also the FP Milita muling aroudn the new gate, I'd suspect related.</p>

<p>I'm surprised no one else has mentioned this....</p><p>right up the road from this gate... there are some tents... and some "witches" in a circle of firepits....  a Solusek Ro Fanatic seems to be leading them....</p><p>She says something about a place found again, and where they can worship without the oppression of the overlord...</p>

<p>Something else that was being passed around the server channels on Guk last night.</p><p>If you are from Freeport, try sharing an evil quest with someone from Qeynos or Kelethin. You get a message that says something like, "You cannot share that quest with your target. You can only share this quest with someone from Freeport or Neriak".</p><p> HMMMM...</p>

I was in Fallen Gate the other day grouping... there are new NPCs there roaming around Little Neriak and other places. Noone knew what they were for.

The location is all wrong for Neriak. Neriak is supposed to be in the Nektulos Forest...it's hard enough to try and explain why the Foreign Quarter and Commons are in the Commonlands now (which is what Fallen Gate is - it is Neriak). Although...I can think of one dungeon that was in West Commonlands in EverQuest that had an entrance doing into the side of a mountain... I think we just got Befallen returned to us.

Don't remember where but before EQ2 was released they said it was in an alternate universe for the reason of not having to perfectly place zones exactly where they were in EQ1.

if neriak will be a starting city it will be a low lvl zone. if neriak will be "just" a dungeon... well it could be everything <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />
