Last update introduced new mount and a new class hat basically...Looks really cool and all but ok...I would like to get the mount myself BUT once again there is a certain lvl you have to be to get the quest like the carpet. How do people that start out on this game feel about this? They see something really cool like a mount and cant get it cause you HAVE TO BE THIS level to get the mount? you can get a horse when you get the money for it? why cant you get the same thing for the carpet or the new mount? Ive had way to many low levels already bug me where to get one and got upset cause they were to low lvl to get it. This isnt armor so its not the same thing but still. Why make something all the time for higher level characters and leave the lower lvl chars in the dust?

Because its rewarding higher level people for doing to the work to get that high so they deserve to get a new mount. I wouldn't be opposed to a low level mount quest either but it would have to be of a much lower run speed than the quest ones I think.

I do hear what you are saying, even if it is a bit of whining. You mention that you have a lot of low level toons, but cannot get the cool new horse quest or carpet quest without being a certain level. You also make a comment about getting a horse when you can afford it. Sure both look cool, but there are really rewards to give players who did take the time to level up and also keep them interested. I also have low level toons on multiple accounts. All of those toons have either 32 or 40 speed horses. Took all of 2 weeks of running through newbie zones and selling all the treasured+ drops to get the plat to buy them. Sure I have a toon at 48, but I am not even gonna bother doing the carpet quest again for this toon. He has a 40 speed horse so there is not need. Also there are a lot of other cool mounts that can be purchased, but require being in level 60 guild and a lot of plat, but no questiing. So if you are in a level 60 guild with a level 1 toon and plat to spare, then you can have one of the much faster horses. The idea of having one to quest for that does not require a guild membership lets those players that do not like guilds to get a better mount. This is not the bleak picture you paint. Of course it has already been posted, but you could just grind or power level like everyone else and get to where you can do the quest. But if you whine about doing the quest like you do about this new mount, you will most likely not get a lot of help grinding and thus I think this is the real root of the problem.

Honeslty the mount sucks in comparison to a guild puchased which my lower level can get as he has a couple million status and a bit of plat. I grinded an alt to 70 so I could have the option to play with the higher levels in my guild. I do however care less about my alt than I do about my coercer which is my main. I personally prefer the guild status mounts over the quested. I have both quested on the 70. They are ok. The warg is flashy but everyone in the higher levels will have them soon and they will be less unique.

To this day my main has the guild carpet and the quested but he prefers the guild purchased. Heck, on ocassion people still ask how I got it. lol It's more unique and better than the carpet quested one. I use it primarily. I don't even know why I keep the quested one.

That would be because the game is nearly 3 years old and nearly anyone that has been playing for more than 3 months has a level 70 character.....They are the majority, and basically majority rules...Look at it as an incentive to level quicker...

Everyone that has the higher level mounts or items worked and quested to get them. Why should someone at a lower level not have to do the same?

Honestly why should they make any stuff for the low lvl chars anymore, theres little to no new players coming in, so why not keep the current playerbase happy with new stuff? You can make 100 new players happy or keep the other 60,000 or whatever happy.

Last thing EQ2 lacks is content for lower levels. Seems pretty easy to miss most of it. And I'm a new player

You "lower level players" got a whole expansion.

IMO they should never add in any more low level stuff since:

1.) There is way too much stuff to level on already. Even with your exp locked and doing quests you won't be able to see it all.

2.) There aren't many new people playing.

3.) Majortity of people are max level.

Let me repeat that..."Have To Earn!" The people you see riding around on mounts...."Earned Them!" When you load up your new First Person Shooter game are you given the "All Powerful Kill Everything Gun" when you first start? No your given a little pistol.

Your armor looks like crap because it's supposed to. If I play for 102 hours and finally get my shiney new armor, I dont want to turn around and see a lvl 10 toon looking better than me.

If you dont have time to put into the game then play something else, It's that simple. Dont complain to others that you dont have everything when you first start.

They gave lower level character a entire expansion (EoF). With just bones thrown to the majority of the player base at higher levels. Fine. But they are losing many of those long time players. Giving them Unrest, mounts and few other things is nothing compared to the beautiful expansion given to lower level characters.

Plus..Plus..leveling is so freaking easy in this game. Why spend spend lots of time on something that will be outleveled in a day or two?!? /boggle

Well, the op seems to not want content, just a rediculous pixellated speed buff. Tell you what, just ask a high level Druid or Bard for a buff and get over it. Carpets and Mounts aren't content, they are just junk, and far less important to the game than "something to do". As Blackfire stated, at the lower levels you can lock exp and still grey out half of your appropriate level content before you even begin to hit all of it. The Starter Isle/commonlands/antonica revamp alone added a ton of new player content and "stuff" alone. Add in all you can do now in EoF and lower tier content is the bulk of the game. There are far more HQ's available to the under 50 player, so, there is that "stuff". There is more "stuff" added with the revamp to Deathfist as well. Add in the fact that a brand new player can acheive AAs faster at appropriate levels, and not have to play catch up on old greyed out content.. and the fact that a veteran player will never see the AA points for all of the collections they turned in pre KoS. I've started two brand new chars just to experience all of the new content available, and to tell you the truth, I've far too much to do with them, and I know I wont hit half of what I want to. It is even worse on my late 30s-late 40s chars. Zek, Rivervale, SS, Revamped DFC, Everfrost/Permafrost, Feerrott, and all of the new content in EoF... no way am I going to see it all, do it all on these chars, there is just too much to get done even exp locked. I play for "something to do". Being a Veteran of SWG taught me that "stuff" is the least important part of an MMO, as "STUFF" is the property of SOE, and can be removed, nerfed, "NGE'd", given out free to brand new players, bought with farmed creds, you name it. I have to say, IMO the OPs complaint is one of the most baseless I have ever read.

Certainly totally baseless whining on the OP's part, and also detrimental because it gives certain people the chance to cart out their same old pathetic song and dance never make another iota of non-max level content again routines
