View Full Version : Highest population PvP server?

What do you guys think will be the highest population PvP server after the merge?

I hear that Vekketor (or however you spell it) server that is merging with the 3 Euro servers actually might LOSE population due to the whole 'move to whatever server you want' thing going on, alot of people there have said they are leaving for Nagafen.

Either way, I have been planning on making new characters on a pvp server, but don't want to end up on a dead server. I'm on Vox right now but it's not too late to turn back.

Whatcha think?

If by turn back you mean transfer there when this goes live next week, you are sadly mistaken and forever bound to what is a week away from becoming the lowest population server in all of EQ2, with the exception of the Test servers. Nagafen is, and will remain to be, the high population pvp server, and this will likely never change unless they open a FFA PVP server later on down the road. Hey, now that i mention it, has anyone heard of a potential FFA pvp server? Would be awesome to be able to kill anyone and reap rewards for it regardless of faction

While venekor's population is (and will almost certainly continue to be) lower then nagafens...venekor is most certainly not a dead server. As for why a small number of people feel the need to convince everyone else that the sky is falling with their doom and gloom rhetoric, I don't know. Perhaps they just want to be able to say I told you so once their campaign of terror chases everyone away. Certainly if everyone put any stock in what they were saying, then there wouldn't be any pvp. The fact is there is plenty of pvp here, and in my opinion it will only get better with the small influx of euro players.

nagafen certainly seems to have an active public relations team. I keep having to ask this question...If your population is so great, why do you need to constantly bombard the forums (and even venekor chat channels) claiming that venekor is dead in an attempt to recruit people? Clearly you kids just want some real venekor pvpers. Tired of pwning all the n00bs with your 1337 hax, and you want a real fight eh?

So, in conclusion, pick quality over quantity

So just go silently, no reason to chase everyone away just cause you've already decided to move. The whole server isnt going to die just because you leave, so stop trying. I think those darn naggys are bribing you to get everyone to move lol.

edit: wow d a m n is censored out, soe really needs loosen up

If it was the case, we wouldnt be gettin all the EU servers merged with us to try and up the population. They would of just merged all the EU servers. They are mergin dead servers with a server that is not as dead, but gettin there.

I know how Venekor has been since Day 1. It was a very packed server pretty much up untill EoF was released, then tons left the game, alot of T7 guilds broke up. Now we have a couple big guilds in Freeport and couple in Qeynos. U tryin to tell me this is the same as it was back last summer?

T7 PvP on Venekor is DEAD. Im sorry u cant seem to understand this, my only thoughts on this would be that u have never played T7 PvP, so any arguement your tryin to pull is not gonna work.

I never claimed that there was as much pvp as there was last summer...but then the people on naggy cant say that either. Just because there arent as many people doesnt mean that there arent any at all. Also, comparing the time of year when all the kids are home from school and college to any other time of year is incredibly biased.

I respect that youve been here since day 1, however youve already said your leaving so just leave it at that. Dont call me a troll when your jumping in every thread saying that venekor is dying and once again mentioning that your moving to naggy.

I can see where Ohnoes is coming from. Before EoF, the server population was weighed in the favor of Freeport by about 2 to 1, so there were many targets for Qeynosians such as Ohnoes. Then EoF came out and a lot of people left Freeport leaving Freeport pretty much empty and not as many targets as there were before, so it would seem dead to Ohnoes because he was used to seeing a lot of pvp and now there is not as much now. These moves are going to bring back life to the game for those want more pvp than they are getting. Maybe Venekor will be more like it was before EoF.

I can understand his desire to try and keep people on Venekor because he wants there to actually be a population when he gets to T7, but its a little late for last minute efforts. Most of Venekor will move while its free, and those that stay are the ones who don't want to compete on the raid scene on Naggy, or those that just like to do the small group stuff without being bothered.

I think that most people just don't really care about T SEVEN at all. From my point of view, having just started in december last year, it seems like once you get there, all you're left with is lots of plat for twinking up a new alt.

Every time you speak, you refer only to T SEVEN and this post is about Servers not about T SEVEN.

If you want to talk about "Highest T SEVEN Population PvP Server" only - then start another post.

/endrant

We had this discussion on Venekor yesterday 3 or 4 times. Seems like there's some moving to Nagafen and some moving from Nagafen. I've got an alt on the island farming for tinkering and transmuting and have had a great number of conversations with Europeans checking the place out. Most say they really like the atmosphere on Venekor.

And make no mistake, it isn't just the amount of PvP people are looking at, it isn't just being sick of getting ganked (I mean, there's a FP lvl 10 Destroyer on Venekor and he sure didn't get that title by attacking many twinks [aside: i see you're planning on staying, good, i'm working up a twink to get you. rofl]), it's the atmosphere of the place people are looking at too.

I started on Nagafen and moved to Venekor. I really enjoy the atmosphere here. Sure we've got our share of squabbling in chat, but the tone of that squabbling is very different from Nagafen chat. Maybe it's because all the 13 year olds that play without their parents around do so on Nagafen, maybe it because we are a Role Playing Tolerant server so people are generally just more tolerant of differences. I don't really know why, but I like it here much better. I know there's lots of others who feel the same way and I know there's those who want to move to Nagafen.

Next week will be utter chaos I'm sure, and when the dust finally settles, both Nagafen and Venekor will probably both end up with more people as many Europeans have told me that they've been seeing lots of old faces reactivating their EU accounts in preparation for the merge.

So for anyone planning to move to Venekor, we welcome you. New Qeynosians to meet and hunt with and lots of new freeps to kill. Muhahahahaha

That FP 10 destroyer can't beat twinks unless he's in a group, or theyre a clothie

You have to consider that every other twink in his level range is either a level 12 warden or a level 14 scout type, which just dominates a level 10 assassin, especially if they are a bard (nearly impossible to get resists at 10).

High level (high teens) non twinks still give good fights though it is very annoying how red cons automatically see through stealth

Well, I see from another topic that this lvl 10 might be moving away. Even though I hate you, you evil freep [lol jk], I'd hate to see you go cause I really am starting to get good enough to maybe be able to put up a good fight. (such confidence, hehe, all those qualifiers)

whereever you end up, live long and prosper, and may all the qeys you meet kill you quickly. rofl
