I've seen folks say in alot of different post that to max dps you want a large spaced slow 2 H ( and if this question has been answered I couldn't find it sorry ) But why slow? I dueled another battlespec'd inq ( I'm 55 he was 57 ) he was using the garund's gavel I use gukhammer ( 1.6 delay) and I owned him quite handily.. so why slow? Thanks in advance for the input advice and help Bauldor Battle"Medik Mistmoore

I'm wondering the same thing actually, im using tarinax spine which has 2.0 delay but 102 (picture is old after eof it got nerfed) dmg rate, soon Ill have this crafted 2h from EH with 8.0 delay, gonna test it out to see whats best dps with tarinax spine I do on trashmobs 1100 max dps with 150 haste and 50 dps if that delay story is true, this one gonna do some shitnice dps

The delay is not so important. The only thing with a high delay is, that you do not have to time you spells as exactly. If a swing is due during casting a spell, it is delayed until the spell is cast. The next swing will not start to count down until after this delayed swing. So you can loose dps due to this factor. What is more important is the high damage variance of the weapon, as with 100% melee crit only the high value counts.

right refering to the ca cooldown our spells are long enough cast times where this is less of an issue imo. And I understand what your saying about top number and 100 % crit but then again if I hit for say 250 crit every second and you hit for 750 crit every 4 seconds who's doing more damage? Obviously haste is going to play a huge factor in this /weap will give actual delay for those that don't know given the 2 examples illistrated above as shown and assuming a crit = double damage ( arbitrary numbers but will work for this exercise) Spine = 324 every 2 seconds soc = 1160 every 8 seconds Spine raw dps = 162 soc raw dps = 145 interesting... Of course the actual modifier for the crit, haste, strength, skill, etc will effect this greatly but even so... guess about finding the perfect balance between top end damage and delay then Bauldor Battle'Medik Mistmoore

The sweet spot is a delay in the middle, 4-5 seconds, with a huge damage range, a very small number to a very large number. That is the reason Vraksakin Claw Club is the best 2h in the game for us at the moment from a DPS perspective. Ideally I want to get my hands on a Knotty Pine Cudgel, insane range, good delay and monster proc.

The "delay Story" is true. But it the MAX hit that you should be most worried about. It is from that number that a crit is calculated.

I am currently useing a Black Scale Maul ( max damage 564, delay 8.0). My auto attacks in raids hit 1100 - 1600. It is nice to have those land in between heals.

Solo my auto attacks are 800 - 1200.

Ulutia DaBadd'Kitty

Good info here thanks guys! My question is.... what about the loss of Wis from swapping out 2 items for 1. AT 62 I lose 20 wis if I drop my buckler. You guys think it's worth it for me? I've always had the mindset to get as much wis/power as possible. Thanks,Vesudus
