Hey all!

I recently started raiding with my Ranger and I'm looking to try and make sure I'm grouped with the classes I need to maximize my DPS. The problem is, I really dont know alot about the buffs other classes bring to raiding.

So, I'm comming to you for help! Which classes are the best ones to try and have in my group and why?

Thanks for any help.

My knowledge is very limited on this subject too, what I do know is that a Coercer is a Rangers best friend. They have a single target spell (think it takes up a concentration slot) that constantly buffs us for I think around 75 DPS at M1. Also, bards are good for haste, I can remember grouping with a bard who cast something that last a duration where by our haste was insanely increased. Conjurors are good for haste too I beleive.

Another buff I can't really pin down who it was was a short duration buff that greatly increased the groups casting speed, I was able to unload an insane amount of DPS (all my CAs) within a few seconds.

STR buffers are good too but I really am not up on who or what buffs for STR, it's nice to have a couple hundred extra STR.

If I where you I'd make a Coercer top priority, once you've seen what they can do to your auto-attack you'll want to be joined at the hip to one!

It would be something crazy like 200 DPS, 200 Haste, 35% Double Attack, and an insane amount of STR. Any of those 5 classes will help you out, all 5 would probably be the dream team of group for a ranger, IMHO.

It also has a disease damage component, and interrupts the target. Realistically, the best you can probably hope for is an inq for the group healer, an illusionist, a dirge or coercer (unlikely you'll get both as one will probably be in the MT group for hate transfer...and if you have the illusionist it's HIGHLY unlikely you'll get the coercer), zerker, and conjuror. Hard-core guilds will have a much more optimal setup than this, but if you're just starting out, that would be a pretty good dps group for a ranger. Also, you can substitute a bruiser for the zerker, since the bruiser has a permanent dps buff.

I found myself in a group last week with a zerker, wizzie, inquisitor, dirge, and illusionest. The buffs were insane! It is not very often I peek and see my STR above 900. DPS buff was not huge but it helped alot.

I would take an illusionist over the coercer if the illusionist has Illusary Arm AA which provides double attack on 25% of all ranged. COmbined with our 10% and the illusionists haste buff as well - that is some insane DPS. And cacaphony of blades is melee only proc so it does not help us that much although the dirges dps and str buff certainly help. This is my usual raid group: Me Quizzy Illusionist Brig Bruiser Dirge This gives me around 70 DPS 140 haste and 25% double attack. With player made arrows it is rare that i fall below 1600 DPS and I am using Raincaller. I guess if you wanted to make the ultimate ranger group to the detriment of the rest of the raid, it would be this: Ranger Coercer Dirge Illusionist Troubador Quizzy

hehe where to begin...... there are lots of classes which can add to our class but we can't always get what we want. but in regards to what i like most

Healer = Inquis- dps mod, chilling inquest damage proc and some aa crap (casting haste etc....) Fury- VIM!!!!!! huge increase to int adds a crap load to poison procs/crits and agitate(usually not gonna get it cause the proc part of the buff is melee but the str part is a nice addition)

Enchanter = Coercer- dps mod adds tons to our auto-attack damage and regen etc. Illusionist-haste is pretty cool but the Illusionary arm(25% x2 attack) is awesome and again regen etc.

Bard= Both bards add a ton. CoB from Dirge is awesome BUT its a melee damage proc we still get the haste part of the buff but would have to melee for damage proc. The power regen from both is nice and the +% to crits is really what i like the best. Deathly tomb i believe is a dirge damage proc and luck of the dirge is +7% to tigger chance. also adds +str

Summoner/Sorcerer= when it comes to procs from these guys conj emeber seed is best for us. other procs these guys offer are melee. The wizzy adds a nice str buff along with a melee proc. Necros int buff is cool too and my skelly illusion yeeee!

Fighters- Bardzerker Berzerker lol adds sooo much massive Str buffs along with Berzerk grp buf that buff is nasty. SK's death march and str buffs are nice. either brawler for dps mod or haste(dps yee). Pally can have some nice additions too.

if i could pick my grp it would be Fury/Illusionist/Dirge/Zerker/Conj/ME!!!!!

without thinking about other buffs or grp members, DPS mod is greater then haste for rangers BUT Illusionist 25% double attack can make up for it and in proper grp could imho add more.

Does illusionary Arm and our 10% double attack stack?
