Do all of this before running the Launchpad and tell me if it helps. 1. Right click the game icon on your desktop and go to properties. 2. Click the Compatibility tab 3. Check "Run this program as administrator" and "Run this program in compatibility mode for" 4. Select Windows XP Service Pack 2 from the pulldown menu that becomes available. 5. Click OK Even if you have disabled your firewalls, Windows Vista comes built in with its own firewall you may want to configure or disable. For testing purposes only, try disabling it through services. 1. In Windows Vista, hold your "windows key" (Between Ctrl and Alt on your keyboard) and press R to bring up the Run box. 2. Type services.msc and press enter. 3. In the box that pops up, scroll to the bottom on the right side and locate Windows Firewall. Double click on it to bring up the Properties window. 4. Press the "Stop button" and change startup type to disabled. This will turn off your Windows Firewall and prevent it from starting when your computer stops up. To reenable it once testing is complete, go back to the Properties window and press the Start button, and change the startup type to Automatic. Remember that disabling your firewall opens you up to security hazards and that you are responsible for your own security. 1. In Windows Vista, hold your "windows key" (Between Ctrl and Alt on your keyboard) and press R to bring up the Run box. 2. Type msconfig and press enter. 3. In the box that pops up, click Tools. Now click Disable UAC, then click on Launch. A prompt should come up that said "The Operation was completed successfully." Close out of everything now.

Did you restart your computer after disabling the UAC?

There's a checkbox on that box that basically means "go away".
