It will be nice to be able to hide the deity pets. Sure hope it eliminates the sounds some of them make, like the ridiculous rumble of the little giant's feet and the flapping of the imp's wings. But these sounds are trivial compared to the incessant barking of those cursed shaman dogs. (Same deal with druid wolf forms.)

Nevermind that the dog is pretty much universally hated by shammies, now that I've upgraded to a slightly better sound card, I can't stand the little buggers either. They are loud and the barking loop is short and they never shut up. Playing my warden (who is never in wolf form for the same reason), I can turn one of 'em into an owlbear and that's a bit quieter. Playing my coercer, I can turn one into a troll and one into a ratonga and that's even better, but we've had raids with three shammies along and, holy cow, the noise is ridiculous. I enlisted the aid of a warlock to turn 'em into bats and rats, but the little buggers die constantly and it's hard to keep up with the illusions.

Since I can't very well ask the shammies not to summon the dogs as they rely on them for AA buffs and since I don't want to kill sounds for everything else just to get the barking to stop, can we please have a way to mute the dratted things? Heck, I vote making them silent by default and de-barking druid wolf forms as well (since, you know, wolves don't bark). Ideally, all pets would be silent. (The highest level necro mage makes an irritating "oooh-oop" sound that I'd like to shut off.) But if that don't fly, at least give people a /pet shut the $%&# up command for the pets that won't be hidden. Thanks!

at least with a warden or anyone else in wolf form you can hide your illusion..

I'd love this, and I'm a mystic. Sometimes I want to tie the [Removed for Content] dog's mouth shut. Bark bark! Bark! (look around) Bark bark! Bark! (hit pet go away)

Ahhhh. Blessed silence.

EQ2 has sound? Hm, I must have turn the sound of in my first 5min playing EQ2.
Excellent idea! Pets that cannot be hidden should still only been seen and not heard.

I support more options, whatever they might be !

My shammon is always in wolf form and never shows it. There's an option in the Persona Detail screen to hide illusion form. It hides barking too. I still have the buffs from the form.

But there are doubless tons of people who like the wolf form and would like to use it if only they could turn off the horrible barking. There's a thread in the Warden forum about it, in fact (which I discovered after starting this one). So kind of a silly compromise: "Don't like barking? No illusion for you!" But at least, like you say, priests can keep their buffs without the illusion. Shammies can't keep most of their AAs without their dog, so the bark really needs to go.

Sign me up for this too. Stupid damned dogs drive me up the wall.

Would be nice if there was an option to turn off unnecessary sound effects (i.e. pets barking, the "hyuh!" when people jump, mounts whinnying, etc). I remember people complaining unendingly about the sound of players JUMPING about a year or so ago...

Umm...why does this hide only my pet. I can still see everyone elses. Kind useless like that I think. I could really use having it hide all the diety pets, especially on raids.

Anyone noticed a bug with the /pethide? I used the command and pulled a mob. Then I feigned (monk), the mob did not reset but it went to certain spot and started attacking Unknown. I got up and the mob was back on me again. After I killed my godpet the mob reset. Same thing happened to my group members, we got a near wipe, /yelled and climbed a wall, the mobs did not reset till every survivor killed their hidden pets.

Don't derail my thread, please. This is about annoying pet noises and the desire to disable them, not the score of bugs that showed up with /pet hide. There are a bunch of threads already devoted to discussing that and complaints, while quite justified, will probably get more notice elsewhere.
