View Full Version : Things I've learned

Just some things I have learned playing this game, and reading the forums.

1) Regardless of what any empirical evidence says, and no matter what happens, if anyone thinks their class might get be getting shafted, all they really need to do is learn how to play their class.

2) Noone in the game has any ability, and actually never has had an ability, that was overpowered, and therefore downgraded. The only reasons people's classes get nerfed is because soandso over on the <otherclassthreadforums> complained, and SoE immediately read that and completely overreacted.

3) No matter what class you play, SoE hates your class.

4) Loot in this game actually goes to the same place socks go in the dryer. It just vanishes into thin air. I know this because, no matter who you talk to, noone ever wins anything in groups. Dang random number generator!!

5) Anyone who has less money/gear/items than you is a complete n00b, and needs to work for better equipment. Anyone with more is a farmer/botter. Anyone you definitely clear as a botter/farmer that has better stuff, should clearly "Get a life".

6) No matter what DPS class you play, you do more DPS than any other class, and can be proven by any parses you provide. If any dissenting parses are also given, those will immediately be disregarded, because per #1, those total n00b's need to learn how to play their class!!

7) No matter what class you have, any problems you think your class might have could be solved by adding more DPS. Templars don't heal substantially better than anyone else? They should get more DPS!! Monks need a boost? Give them more DPS!! Berserkers need help tanking...can be easily solve by adding DPS!!

Noone actually receives 2-3 tells a day from spammers. People either receive 2.7 million tells per hour, making combat spam seem slow in comparison, or they receive 2.7 tells per year. Regardless, this would be completell eliminated by going anon.

8a) There are countless people perusing these boards right now that could put in a 5 second solution to end all spamming via tellblocking/filtering, because they are senior code analyst for podunk systems, that would eliminate instantly all spammers, and actually have their accounts frozen in any part of the world, with a patch they could write on their thumbnail.

9) No matter what class you play, it is of course well known that your class takes far more effort to do whatever it is you do than any other class. Especially that easy mode class that outparses you.

10) The difference between hardcore and casual is an easy distinction. If anyone has better gear than you, they are total hardcore, and need to get a life. If not...they are cool casual players like yourself. The amount of time playing actually apparently bears no impact to this. One guy can play 3 times a week for 9 hours total, and he is total hardcore. The other can play 50 hours a week, and is completely casual.

Just some things I have learned.

1) Troubs?

2) ....Troubs!

3) Yup

4) The less skilled you are the more loot you end up getting.

5) [Removed for Content] Koreans

6) All parses are fake!

7) Monks are a healer class...right...right???

8a) What if YOU are the gold spammer? And you're sending messages to yourself??!?!

8b) Let's make EQ2 a singleplayer game!!!

9) Down with scouts!!!! Up with Brawlers!!

10) I play Lineage 2 on the side, does that make me hardcore? O.o *shivers*

Rawr! ^-;..;-^

I've learned that SOE properly adores Swashbucklers & showers us with love & hugs & kisses & roses.

I've learned that SOE properly looks down its nose at all other classes, who are clearly less deserving than we are.

I've learned that the above two statements are simply the way the world is supposed to work, & that complaining about it is like claiming that the Los Angeles Dodgers are not the greatest team in major league baseball history. Thus, the natural order of the world is that Swashies are superior to all other classes, which must simply learn to deal with the situation properly by learning how to shine shoes or launder clothing or some other such properly menial tasks.

I've also learned that all Swashbucklers are both unrepentant liars & impossible braggarts, with egos bigger than all of Norrath.

it's something which is the result of human sociological interaction, it's common for all mmorpgs (unless they are class-less in which case it shifts on specialization/something similar)

I would add 1 more, every MMORPG player wins 80-90% of his duels /and yes this includes myself hehe/

most players also belive that "game is balanced if noone can ever do anything better than I do"

DPS is the only value which can be easilly quantified that's why it servers as universal 'fixing' factor

of course PvP is another issue, I have never seen even remotly balanced PvP in a game where classes exists, but I strongly belive it is simple not possible, the best is some sort of paper-rock-scissors but noone is happy with that...

I've learned that every class in this game is over-powered except ... (checks what I class I play) ... Assassins. Boost us and nerf the rest.
