This looks promising, every other post on the forums is one of these!

Unfortunately after browsing through a few pages I didn't find the answer I was looking for.

My question is this:

Do I put points in the Assassin tree or the Predator tree first? I know strength is king in the predator tree but haven't seen anything definite out of the Assassin tree.

Also this isn't an Assassin specific newb question, but all of the racial traits and stats that I spend leveling up, can I "redo" those at some point because I have a feeling that I'm going to mess them up profusely. I'm pretty sure I already picked agility if I was given the choice earlier on over strength because of WoW mechanics. It's been awhile since I've been on EQ2 (and my assassin) so I'm really looking forward to it.

Personally, I did 25 in the pred tree, then 25 in the assassin tree, then 25 more in pred and I'm still working on finishing out the assassin tree. i also did not go straight str right off the bat. I took the agi line up to point blank shot because I solo'd a lot and having another stun really helped out on heroic mobs. As for which tree to get first, look at the abilities and see which ones excite you the most. When I was first coming up, I went with tricks and physicality in the assassin tree, because like I said I solo'd a lot, and that upgrade to adroit defence is very nice if you solo. If you use poisons a lot, those upgrades in the assassin tree will be hella useful. When I was still trying to level to 70, i was spending AA points knowing full well I'd re-spec once i got big enough to raid. In answer to redoing your traits. Yes you can. We call it re-spec'ing. There is a guy at the bottom of the mage school in north FP who does achievement counciling. He will also allow you to re-spec your char. I just did it last night and it was free. It probably normally costs 10g, just like the AA re-specs. You might also eventually get a veteran reward called a reforming stone (type /claim in game to see any rewards you have) that will allow you to re-spec the char traits for free. It seems like after most major patches they allow us a free round of re-spec'ing. Just something to keep in mind. -t

Do 50 in the KOS tree first (predator) they are far more beneficial

Go down STR line then the INT line

then do the EoF tree, (Assassin), you will get little bonus with these compared to the KoS tree

The KOS tree is faaaaaaaaaaaaaar better. Exceptions might be PVP and if you almost exclusively solo. But even then the STR KOS line is simply the best.

Sorry to hijack here but I just started last night and hit level 9 with my assassin. What trees are we talking about. Is it like skill points, or every few levels another one of those stat boxes appear that i can put the stats in what i like?

Sorry huge noob.

For compelting quests, killing nameds, or getting exploration xp you can also earn points. These can be applied into the KoS or EoF "trees", visible by hitting the "L" key by default if I recall correctly. These trees allow you to apply points into various improvements to abilities, etc. and work towards some bigger final abilities.

They allow for some additional customization of your character. You don't get access to them until level 10, however.

Hope this helps.

Ahh ok, i just have the original game for now until i get a feel for the game. That means I wont get anything special until I buy the expansions then right?

Yup, i think you gotta buy the KoS to get achievements, then EoF to get the other set of achievements. But, i reccomend buying them all. the only ones i don't still use pretty regularly are the splitpaw saga, the d'morte one (Actually never even been there). I rarely go to the isle of mara, but its got good stuff, and i keep meaning to get access to that roost. -t

I STRONGLY recommend you buy the Echoes of Faydwer expansion at a RETAIL store, not through digital download. Why? Because, unless things have changed, the box set of EoF will also give you Desert of Flames and Kingdom of Sky expansions, for no additional charge (well, maybe $5 more), while the digital download just gives you EoF. The expansions are well worth getting, esp. Echoes.

Strng line first. If your on pvp like me though, the undisputed ones to max first are the stifle aa, and cheapshot...
