Hello all, I have created a website called EQ2explorer.wordpress.com. My plan for this site is to chronicle my journey in EQ2 through the life of a new character. I want to chronicle the life of a new toon from level one trough level seventy. I played EQ2 at launch for about six months; recently starting again with the addition of Echoes of Faydwer. I currently have the following characters: 1. 26 conjuror 2. 22 swashbuckler 3. 17 monk 4. 16 warden I love playing all of these toons, and think that conjuror would be a great class to use for this journey. However, I kind of don't want to start a new character for a class that I already have. Do you think that a wizard would be class for this website? Please note that I play on a pvp server, nagafen, and that I would like to be a fast, effective soloer. Are wizard good at soloing? Thank you for your guidance. I hope that you check out my website once the journey begins. Regards, Fred

I have played every class to at least lvl 20, Of all of them my wizzy is my main because it is the most fun to solo with. Monk is my second favorite and necro/conjurer are my third favorite. Try a wizzy. you will love it

Wizards are always decent soloers, and they also get progressively more effective at it as they level up. At low levels, you've got basic nukes and roots, you'll be able to solo single mobs with ease, but might have some problems with muli-mob encounters. You also get both invis and spire porting, both of which help greatly with travel. Then, at about level 40, you get Ring of Cold, our group root. With this, you can now easily fight multi-mob encounters. It also stacks with the single target root, so if you're fighting a difficult single mob, you can place both roots on him to make it more difficult for him to reach you. At level 50, you get Ice Comet. The Ice Comet line is basically our ultimate nuke. With this, solo mobs will be going down in like half the time they used to. And, combined with the careful use of both your roots, Ice Comet give you enough damage to solo some heroic mobs. The only real problem that Wizards have through all level ranges is fighting other casters, and sometimes healers. Our defense depends on simply not letting the enemy hit us, and there's no real way to completely stop casters. Of course, with the exception of heroic mobs, we nuke more than any of them, so we can usually burn them down before they kill us. Healers are annoying because, unless you can kill them quickly, the whole thing can often boil down to a 'who has the bigger power pool' competition. They'll keep healing the damage you do until either he runs out of power to heal, or you run out of power to nuke.
