View Full Version : Class Discussion
Hello all, I have created a website called EQ2explorer.wordpress.com. My plan for this site is to chronicle my journey in EQ2 through the life of a new character. I want to chronicle the life of a new toon from level one trough level seventy. I played EQ2 at launch for about six months; recently starting again with the addition of Echoes of Faydwer. I currently have the following characters: 1. 26 conjuror 2. 22 swashbuckler 3. 17 monk 4. 16 warden I love playing all of these toons, and think that conjuror would be a great class to use for this journey. However, I kind of don't want to start a new character for a class that I already have. What class do you think would be interesting for this website? Please note that I play on a pvp server, nagafen, and that I would like to be a fast, effective soloer. Thank you for your guidance. I hope that you check out my website once the journey begins. Regards, Fred

Hi!

Sounds like an interesting idea, but need a bit more information.

How do you plan on getting to 70? Purely solo? Through quests? Groups? A mixture of all? Knowing that will let you narrow down choices a bit as some are much more group oriented than solo and would make the journey differently.

Do you plan to raid and chronicle some of that as well?

Ultimately, the choice is the one you like best. A 20s conjurer is not really all that high level anymore and you could get back to that point in a day if you are hardcore, about a week otherwise, so if you like that best, don't be afraid to reroll!

Assassin? Could be an interesting read if you like to roleplay one... But since all your characters are from Qeynos... How about a bard (Troubadour/Dirge) who would write the ballad of his travels?

You should make at least 1 Freeport class to spice things up, Qeynos ones tend to be more cookie-cutter, where FP's sway to different ends of the DPS/Squishy scale. Maybe a Bruiser or Brigand?

Be a pirate, choose swashbuckler

I had really fun leveling up my swashy to level 70.

I think this is great idea and it would really work with any class you could choose. From a purely PVP standpoint, a Fury would really fit the Lone Wolf soloer bill I would think. A couple of things I would consider if doing this.

What type of chronicle are you keeping? Narrative? Diary? 1st person or 3rd person?

Are you keeping with the lore of EQ2? Are you embellishing storylines or sticking strictly with what this character does on his journeys?

Are you researching the character class and possible personalities types to go along with this class?

The possibilties are endless, but to make it a good read, you need to do some background work, develop the idea and have some exciting PVP battles. I am looking forward to following your progress. Good Luck and Have fun writing.

Can't go wrong rolling a fury on a pvp server IMO.

I would recommend a warden because they will usually beat equally geared furies in PvP and are very good questers.
Does this concept of a website interest you? Some of my ideas so far as to show the characters experiences as he levels. I am not planning on this being a roleplay discussion. More an exploration of the game itself where I review different zones, critique game play, suggest things for people to try, discuss game mechanics including pvp mechanics, etc. I also thought that I would ask the readers what I should do next. You can help direct the live of this toon.

Which ever class you choose I suggest going thru exile with it. Should make for some interesting stories there being on Nagafen and all.
