I saw that, and it gave me a good chuckle.  I'm not sure it matters all that much where the guy came from, but it doesn't look the greatest for SOE that they are completely okay with hiring from a company that violates their policies on a regular basis. I don't think this is a sanction for plat sales, and atm I'm trying to think of it as similar to when banks and other companies hire former bank robbers and hackers to help out with beefing security.  Maybe having a guy from the other side will help?  Or maybe the guy will just be there to do his job.  Who knows.

Perhaps on the flipside, he can give insider information about how the farming companies operate, and can help soe fight the botters.  On the other side, this hiring is pretty suspecious, I know of a few friends that already believed that soe allowed botting as long as they got a share of the money, and this will probably further cement their thoughts.

Never cross peoples minds that SOE might be getting a cut of the bot farms profits in return for not being all out exterminated?  It is a huge business I think.

Locking this as it has little to do with actual gameplay and there is already an ongoing discussion<a href="http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/posts/list.m?topic_id=357213" target="_blank" rel="nofollow"> here</a> about it.
