I bought EQ2 about a month or two after its release. I've gotten every expansion they've made, and I've quit on multiple occasions for months at a time. However, since I started playing again since my most recent departure---as far as I can tell---it really seems like EQ2 has finally become what it was originally intended to be.  An amazingly fun game where players have to depend on one another to accomplish tremendous goals. Everything major seems to be working as intended.  I know there are still smaller things that don't work here and there, but it isn't as though there are several major things out of place. I just wanted to say this, because I don't think they ever really hear it anymore (except implicitly with the size of the subscription base and their paychecks): Way to go devs.  You're doing a great job, and I honestly can't wait to see what else you put into this game system.  It is the most fun, and perhaps best balanced, game system I have ever encountered.  I expect to be playing for quite some time.

I'm with you all the way on this one. I left EQ2 to go play WoW for a while, because my nephew 1,000 miles away was into the game.  Not two weeks after I got two accounts set up, my brother calls to tell me his computer needed a reformat.  Needless to say my only real reason for playing was now offline (and ended up staying that way), but I thought that since my wife and I invested so much money we'd stick it out for a while.  By the mid 30's we saw that there was little point in continuing.  Quest lines were finished too quickly, people would loot-[Removed for Content] blue items that wife or I could use when they clearly had even better stuff on (and I know that happens here sometimes but NOTHING like over there).  Crafting?  What, just gather enough mob drops then click a button and stand there until you've made the specified quantity of a thing?  Wow, THERE'S creativity and a sense of accomplishment for you.  And as for collections -- which are my favorite part of EQ2 -- I guess there were some to be found once you were in the upper levels, but they should give out gold watches to the people who can complete every single collection in this game who spent less than 10p on the broker doing so. Anyway, you get the idea. I don't think EQ2 is ever going to be the "perfect MMO", but it's more than good enough to satisfy my wife and I.  Now, if SOE would PLEASE JUST ADVERTISE THE GAME???  Maybe put a demo disc in every copy of Computer Gaming World or EGM or PC Gamer for a month.  Generate some new interest....
