I could write out a long drawn out post going on and on about content being used up, and get a lot of responses about content not being able to be generated fast enough, etc etc. So let's skip all that. My thoughts are: EQ2 needs more progression options. But, it is difficult to raise the level cap. Raising the level cap requires balancing, and new content in the level range. There needs to be some meaningful post-level-cap progression. To a point, achievements provide that. However, like levels, you run them out before too long. But, raising achievement caps would allow players to progress more, without trivializing all of the current game content. So that raises the question: Why not raise the achievement cap some every few months? For example, 20 total points, 10 in each tree, every 2-3 months. Every raise would include more and more difficult achievement levels to reach, so they would last longer and longer. Think of it as a booster shot for progression. Players can continue to progress post-level cap, and balance remains fairly similar. Sure, over time content would become easier and easier, but that's going to happen as any playerbase matures within a tier. Better gear, skills and strategies will always lead to the slow deterioration of challenge. The only real challenge with this would be that some classes don't gain as much from achievements as others. If that's the case though it suggests that their achievement trees need rebalancing. Finally, if more achievements in our class/subclass trees are not an option, why not a general tree for a new achievement that could include some of the same options that are in the character traits/traditions/tactics selections. Why not even just remove those options (we've already removed master strikes) and put in a general tree, and a racial tree? Racial trees could have racial visions, things like fae glide, and other options that are more for fun than for combat.

The only problem I could forsee with this is that after a period of time the "specialization" some classes have made with their AAs will become null because we will all be the same.

I would like to see a tree that was more of a fun spell/ability tree. Sure, it might be more of an AA sink, but I'd spend a few points for, say, the ability to shrink to 25% normal size, or maybe the ability to rocket up and safely land, sort of like in the Crazed Gnome HQ. Not everything has to be about character modification...some things could just be for the fun of it

It would be nice to have some fun things to make people do in between pulls at raids

would love to see more achievements like in eq1... there are about 3k? aa-points available. dunno the exact amount you can gain in eq1, but there you got a "general" section like improve runspeed, bag capacity, hp/manareg, improved stats AND at least class-achievments (that we allready have, but much more of them)

also would like to have some achievments for our crafters. crafting is not my favorite thing, but there are many many crafters out there, that maybe miss a little love in achievments for them.

and there are too many named out there, to get achievment for. restartet an illu (meanwhile mainchar, cause i love the toon), just to test if i can ding 100 achievments with named kills / questing. i dont know how many named i have killed till i dinged 70, but there where not as many raidmobs among the named kills as you might think. till i dinged 100 achievment i havent been on any eof-raid. so please, get us some more achievments to get some usefull credit out of a named kill, when the masterchest wont offer any improvment for the group/raid.

I'm willing to bet that we'll see some new AA options whenever the next expansion rolls around. That's typically how it went in EQ1. Pretty much every expansion we got a new tab in our AA window with a bunch of new stuff to choose from.
Racial and ability trees would add a little fun but I don't want to see the EQ model of AA grinding. You could never get enough and that's all people did. I like how APs in EQ2 aren't necessarily and exp-grind but that's how the need here is sounding. I think there will always be people wanting more progression options and AA grinding sounds like an one but it's a virtual rut to get in. It was one in EQ at least.
