I wasn't really sure where to put this so I'm putting it here in the forum for screenshots, etc. For a long time I've been forced to use a third-party image editor to preview my .tga screenshots (i.e. EQ2 native format). Widows Explorer, by defualt, in WinXP - does not offer preview support for the format -- so you can't get any thumbnail previews of entire folders like you can with .jpg, etc. I found this handy API add-on that allows you to preview your screenies from within Windows Explorer just like any other image file -- .TGA format thumbnailer for WinXP Explorer The page gives a fine example of this in practice, so check it out ... I've just installed it and opened my EQ2 screenshot directory ... and it's wonderful ... all my pretty screenies, all thumbnailed for easy browsing. Enjoy! btw it also supports .PIC and IFF (Maya) format previews!

Yes but TGA gives a cleaner uncompressed image file.

Exactly. And even if you can do that for EQ2, you can't do it in many other games, not to mention software programs that use .tga as the native format.

.tga contains information that the naked eye can't discern but that a professional editor might need for various reasons. A jpeg is still compressed, even at 100. The file weight will still be significantly less than a .tga or .png or .bmp ... Anyway - the point is, this is a useful little utility if you're stuck on WinXP.
