I have the sexiest troubador thanks to a very rare item known "Talvus Linked Tunic" which makes me look shirtless. <a href="http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e38/Novuso/EverQuest/LoA3.jpg" target="_blank" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://i36.photobucket.co...pg" border="0"></a> <a href="http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e38/Novuso/EverQuest/LoA2.jpg" target="_blank" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://i36.photobucket.co...pg" border="0"></a> <a href="http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e38/Novuso/EverQuest/Confirmed.jpg" target="_blank" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://i36.photobucket.co...pg" border="0"></a>

HOW ON EARTH DO YOU PLAY WITH 1 HOTBAR?!?!??!?!? I USE 8...
Novusod
05-04-2007, 02:48 AM
I don't understand this obsession with 8 hotbars. Use one hotbar for attacks and one hotbar for buffs and only have one up at a time by using the spinner. I have my debuffs on a secondary hotbar but that is it.
<p>Here's my trouby. Full setup of UI is here: <a href="http://www.mtco.com/~kuvarien/EQ2_000017.jpg. " target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.mtco.com/~kuvarien/EQ2_0...0017.jpg. </a> Six toolbars are buffs, buff/potions, and misc at top. One hidden at top left with resist gear swap out macro's and subsequent reset-to-DPS macro's. Bottom right are attacks, debuffs, misc attacks/food/water/god stuffs. Last bar below my name, target and implied target are consumables of cure, health and power items. My setup is for a 99% raid-only troubadour so it reflects that. Spinning hotbars would mean death upon death in the raiding world, unless you are unbelievably fast and accurate with spinning between that many toolbars and scenarios. I have no chance of achieving that, so here I am <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p><p>The weapon I'm showing off is Maestro's Flame from Castle MM. It's the lowest DPS weapon I carry (after Grinning, Absolution and Vyemm) but is by far the best looking.</p><p><img src="http://www.mtco.com/~kuvarien/EQ2_000035.jpg" border="0"></p>

I don't have a screenie of mine right now... My gear isn't stellar except for my SoD-Fabled since it's my 3rd toon and I don't care too much what I look like as long as you can see my toons face I'm happy... and there just isn't enough pink gear in the game to make my toon happy anyway. as far as the hotbar debate goes... you have to use more than 2.... it's a bare minimum of 4. I have like 14-16 buffs... I know for a fact my 2 resists and my hp regen did not make it to my big buff bar due to space reasons. I have more attacks and debuffs than I could fit on one line... it takes more like 2. Then you have /assist macros and jesters and mez and charm... and call of the overlord You need at least 4 bars... if you are serious that you only have 2 and cycle them... there is part of your duties you are probably neglecting.... even if it's just attacks and debuffs you can not fit them on 1 bar... close... but dropping 4 is still dropping 4... and mez/charm should always be 1 click away if you are not on a raid. The game is designed to be run with more than 1 hotbar open... I suggest a minimum of 2... 1 for attacks... and one for debuffs, short term debuffs, and crowd control... Swap the bars using the spinner to get to the buffs and travel stuff. so 2 hotbars open... 4 total (2 hidden at any time) would be what I consider minimum. If you have the screen space I suggest having 4 open minimum... maybe 6 if you have a really big screen. 8 is overkill IMHO. If I could write an ingame macro that said "primary hotkey bar =6" and it would swap my bars... I would probably go with 2 bars... each of the 2 bars ending with the = being a hotkey bar swapper to another bar which has that same key used to swap it back. so 11 actuall spells... last one being swapper to 11 more spells with a swap back button... 22 "real" buttons. To reason is this... I multi box... I hit all the keys on that keyboard with 1 hand.... holding alt or ctrl with 1 finger and mashing a button with another is a PITA (alt+4)... doing =4 in a 2 separate key stroke... is easier. Due to the fact I am a multi-boxer I operate almost completely out of 1 key bank when I am running 3 toons.... but it hurts bad at times... my long term bufs and gate are all on non-keyed hot key bars... and my debuffs, jesters and biggest attacks are on my main bar... with smaller attacks and stealth, ranged attacks etc on my 2nd bar. Pretty sure I have 5-6 bars open... shape shifting stuff is on an extra hidden bar.
