Now I know most people only say a pair of fabled dual wield will out-do a bare fist. But what about: Bo of Flowing Blood (aITEM -1212837114 439418258:Bo of Flowing Blood/a) +48 str, +35 sta, +160health, +120 power, +5 deflection, +2 melee crit 31-174 damage (93.0 AR) + Scintillating Rapid Handgrips (aITEM 2122690531 2010329266:Scintillating Rapid Handgrips/a) +20 Attack Speed I already have the bo, but didn't want to drop 11pp on the adornment if it won't beat the bare fists.. Edit: BTW I have STR 4/4/8/1 already with 100 AA's agressiv

Hrmm, does the scintillating rapid handgrips adornment stack with all the other hastes? I'm thinking it does but wanted confirmation from someone who has done it.

Well I bought the cheaper version of the handgrips (2 haste instead of 20) and it didnt stack with FBSS or Armwarps of Dark and Blight. 5 extra haste for 11 plat isn't worth it, IMO. agressiv

I'm currently using the Bo for when I'm tanking. High HP and Stamina, as well as +5 Deflection, competes with the defenses you can get from two 20 plat Legendary or Fabled dual wield weapons. And I got my Bo for 3 plat.

I adorned it with +Defense, just to boost that a little further.

I do carry the higher damage Twin Calamity and Closing Time with me for when I DPS. Procs for damage and high Strength score and decent power.

Unarmed might be able to keep up with the damage from those weapons (or maybe not, who knows). But being able to put Power Tap (raiding, chain pulling) and Life Tap (soloing in offensive) adornments made my decision to switch over. That, and I decided to go Wis/Int 4,4,8,6,2 instead with the new AA change.

I did some parses with my current AA setup (STR 4/4/8/1, WIS 4/4/8, INT 4/4/ against some level 50 giants in SS. I was in my defensive stance, just going up to the mobs and auto-attacking them. With bare fists, I was fairly consistently around 350dps. With the bo staff, it was around the same, but occasionally it was slightly below it. When it was below it, it was because roughhousing and zek cloak proc'ed less. Guessing i'd have to make it more scientific and fight harder mobs or something. Gonna respec to something similar to what you have (WIS/INT only) and give it a run. I'm hoping the extra 17 AA's that I can put elsewhere, plus a 2H adornment, will put me over the edge. Extra tankability won't hurt either. agressiv

Well... if you are looking for pure DPS, then unarmed will probably still come out higher.

The benefits from the staff will be from the stats (defensive/power/hitpoints) and adornment possiblities, really.

I still use my fabled/legendary weapon combo when DPSing, and that was my real competition for unarmed with the Strength line.

Really, the reason I switched to Wis/Int with finals is because I wanted to be able to tank instances better, and that required a bit more help with aggro control. The extra AE CA, the AE proc, and the final "hit multiple mobs for a few seconds" help with aggro control on groups quite a bit actually. And the final for the Int line is a nice boost to defense when hurt... plus the 75% crits.
