I am by no means a certified expert on this subject so please forgive me if I make mistakes below.

Question: When a character disables combat experience is their portion of the experience they would have earned instead re-apportioned back to the others in the groups OR is the experience they would have earned still assigned to them but does not "land" on them?

From what I understand so far (this is the part I may be way off), when a char groups an experience bonus is applied to experience earned on each kill and each encounter completed. There is also zone bonus modifiers to account for and then also there is a non-equal division of experience between the group members based on the levels of said group members.

So using completely fake numbers that are not even close to reality of game play the following could happen.

the Kill - A Gnoll

Group Member 1 is level 70 - would receive 40% of the experience earned

Group Member 2 is Level 70 - would receive 40% of the experience earned

Group Member 3 is Level 55 - would receive 20% of the experience earned

Group Member 1 is maxed on experience (70/100) and isn't getting experience anyway and turns off combat experience.

Does that have the effect of the following:

GM1 - would get 0%

GM2 - would get 60%

GM3 - would get 40%

OR This

GM 1 - would get 0%

GM2 - would get 40%

GM3 - would get 20%

??????

Thanks,

Allurana

I'm pretty sure option two would be the result. There is no documentation TMK stating that turning off combat experience for yourself benefits the rest of the group.

Also if you mentor someone who has experience turned off I believe you get 0 combat experience. Or at least this has been told to me when I've been mentored with experience off.

My guess would be that the experience divides up if you take it or not. Otherwise, 5 lvl 70s mentor down to lvl 18 and turn off their xp. They could power lvl the lvl 18 at super speeds if he got 100% of the xp going through dungeons.

In fact, guilds could grind out lvl 70s in a matter of a week or two.
