"requires defiler" Message Bug

Hi, I have /bug'd this but wanted to post here too to make sure it wasn't something with the UI I have (Fetish Nightfall). I am a Mystic and every time I cast my AA pet using "Summon Spirit Companion" I get a message in my main chat window that says "requires defiler". Now, the same spell is used by both classes and while the pet spawns and acts as it should, the visual bug is annoying. The same message appears after each zone when my pet is up. I would say it maybe started happening GU32 onwards, but it took me until last night to figure out what spell was causing the message. Is anyone else experiencing this? The only UI mod I'm using is eq2maps, and I get these.   I had not figured out what was causing them, but pet spells or other shaman aa line spells would seem likely.    I'd noticed they were occuring during combat.

I get it when I summon my dog, and when I zone.  Its annoying.

<p>Same here, no UI mod used and I get it everytime I zone and summon the pooch.</p><p>Started for me after the last liveupdate I think and I /bug'd it too. Very annoying...</p>

<p>It's our pet. The first day it started I went through all my spells/buffs even gear zoning in and out of a tradeskill instance to figure out which thing was causing it. </p><p>I found it to be the dog and bugged it. Still not fixed and it is EXTREMELY annoying. /glower</p><p>If my dog requires a defiler, that defiler better show up and start healing him =p so I can let him take some more hits.</p>

I'm getting it also.  And it took me a bit to figure out it was the dog. Interestingly, while I was playing my bruiser the other night I got a similar message "requires fighter" when I used a necro heart ... in fact I got that message for each tick of the heart power regeneration.  ... Was SOE trying to tell me something??? [Removed for Content]. I used the same player's necro hearts last night on my mystic and didn't get the message "requires shaman" ... so I guess it's not a universal bug everywhere.

It occurs when summoning dogdog as well as zoning if dogdog is out.

I noticed it happening after last big update.. At first I thought it had to do with one of my buffs or spells because I had betrayed from Defiler only to notice it was the annoying pet.. and when you inspect the AA it says Requires Defiler..

<p>well this may be happening to most classes.  I was on my monk alt earlier today, and go the message, requires bruiser.</p><p> Also on my mystic one night I was getting spammed with a message that said something along the line of the target must be Epic to use this ability, which did not make much since.  haven't seen that one in a week or so though.</p>

<p>It's because of the mechanis of the summon dog spell.</p><p> When you cast "Summon Spirit Companion" it does two things</p><p>---</p><p>1. Summon a Spirit Companion - If mystic</p><p>2. Summon a Spirit Companion - If defiler</p><p>---</p><p>Since mystics aren't defilers the second effect will fail and we'll get the message.</p><p>Defilers should get the message "Mystic required", but they might have filtered that out. I haven't visited their boards to find out.</p>

<p>If you peruse other class forums you will see that many classes have reported similar messages popping up for this or that. All of them started after the last big Live Update. I guess the programmers missed something. No doubt it will quietly be fixed in an upcoming update.</p>
