I'm in a raid guild and I used to play a Necro, however we had an increasing need for a full time coercer. After leveling one to 70 and obtaining out Master Level Charm, playing around in Bonemire has been a blast with the CC.

I love going around some of the 60+ instances zones on my necro farming items and masters etc (Nest/Acad and a few others). I'd like to know what mobs you guys charm in zones like HoF, PoA, Nest, Acad and other zones that might be comparable to a CC in bonemire. I haven't had much luck finding the right mobs to charm in these zones and haven't seen many posts regarding these T7 group zones since most probably group in them and not solo/dup using pets.

Thx

No pet compares to the corpse flame. There's an entire thread (with a link to the wiki pet guide) 2-3 threads down.

Yeah I saw that post and many others but they're all outdoor zones. No real instance/indoor zone charm info anywhere to my knowledge.

In Halls of Fate the "biopist" mobs nuke as hard (actually feels a little harder -- I've seen 10K crits on a CC, and 10K normal hits from a bipoist with 12K crits) than a CC.

In the Nest there is a warlock mob, but I forget what it's called. It nukes for about half of what a CC does, so it's still respectable, though not quite as nice. The one I grabbed was part of a 3-mob group, so only had a single up-arrow. Later on the "high guard" mobs made a respectable tank for my tankless group.

Haven't charmed much in BSS, Vaults, or PoA though, so I can't help you there yet.

My experiences with Charm in unrest...

The Flames are very nice for charming. When there was one spawning in the fireplace upstairs, it was nice to get for a pet so early in the zone. He'll dot and melee pretty hard, but also land some CA's for 7-8k. Crits for over 10k.. all depending on debuffs of course (not sure on damage type). Brings about 500-700 DPS to the table... in a single group setting that's like having another melee DPS in the group.

As fun as charming yourself, or your groupmates, when the dopplegangers show up... it's not very productive. They are almost pure melee, and rarely do a CA. They have one that's a dot I think, but it just ticks or like 200-300.

I haven't tried charming the ghosts much... most don't do much more than melee and power drain. And I dislike charming within encounters, due to how they can reset, etc. Most other mobs are required for an event to occur.. or just melee focused. Or just immune to charm, which is a big suckfest right there.

The gnome's pets are the highest dps/fastest speed pets in the zone that I've used. I love 'em. It's important to note that while the gnome summons them and acts like it's a pet, it's a completely unrelated encounter and you won't break anything by keeping it for the duration. I usually keep a cucuy up until we clear the game room, then dump it for the gnome fight. Cucuy dps ain't that hot, but it's fast, and that counts for a lot in that snare-happy zone.
