Hi all

Just started a Ranger and so far (almost at the high and mighty level of 16) I'm loving it.

Few questions though- some of these likely should be in other forums- but they all apply to my Ranger so..

1) Long Bow vs Shortbow- I see pretty much every Ranger using the Longbow- I would have thoguht the Shortbow would be better (with it's lower delay) Is the extra 10 meters range form the Longbow that big a deal? Or am I missing something?

2) How important is the 2% Bow crit? I've made a Woodelf- not sure I'm liking him though, might want to restart as something else. Of course no one seems to have a racial ability of better crits.. will I notice a difference at higher levels or is 2% not all that much?

3) How many procs can I have go off of one attack? Can an imbued weapon with a proc adornment and poison proc all three on one attack? I also seem to remember reading (more than a year ago) that it was useless for dual wielders to have the same proc (imbued/whatver) on both weapons as only the main hand one would proc. Is this true? Or should I try and dual wield imbued weapons?

4)Fletching- How many arrows do you go thorugh at higher levels? I made my characetr a fletcher- but am noticing he seems to get one recipe (plus the imbued version) for many of the 20+ levels- which would seem to make very slow advancement in the field. I like the idea of a fletching ranger, but am wondering if it's worth the effort at high levels. Right now I don't go through that many arrows (as mentioned I'm only 17ish) with most of my bow attacks being arts. I know this will change later- but how much?

Anyway-thanks for any info or help you can provide!

1) longbow because of the higher dmg crits...

3) you can have all your procs go off on one attack but anything that says it'll only proc off your primary weapon will only work off of your primary weapon...

4) not much...arrows last a long time now...

2) Ranged crits are very important, especially at the higher levels where a large chunk of our damage comes from autoattack

3) As many procs as proc items and proc skills as you have. They wont proc more then once or proc off of other procs, though. And most melee weapons won't proc off ranged. A few do, and are highly prized

1) a long bow will give you a farther range to pull from when soloing. it can mean the difference in landing 2 attacks or 3 when pulling a mob.

2) ranged bow crits are awsome. i have a human ranger so i dont get the 2% racial. however there is an AA category in the agi line that increases ranged crits and i have it maxed.

3) i think this was answered

4) at 70 doing an instance run of obelisk of blight i use about 150 arrows. before the arrow fix this number would have been like 2000.

1) You CAN use shortbow if you want, on PvE. But on PvP servers, you WILL need to get a longbow. 2) 2% is very good, imo. Keep your woodelf. 3) All 3 4) If you get makeshift arrows adept III or M1, you will constantly have arrows in your quiver/inventory. I have 2 rosewood boxes full, + my quiver. I don't need more, but I keep summoning them ... I guess it's a habit.

No matter what your playstyle or server, longbows are always better.
