Now I have been putting off this discussion for quite some time primarily because it's a topic that many people probably had discussed or just doesn't want to talk about.

Have you ever made a character that you thought would be a good idea at the time of creation that later you felt just wasn't the right class or race? I have heard the discussion that once a character is made they can't change and for the most part some people say why?

I have had some characters in the past that I have truly enjoyed playing the class and have spent much of time leveling them up to the endgame level but the anesthetics of the character just doesn't seem to be as grand as once thought especially if the character was created a long time ago and was picked back up. The only thing that a gamer can do in this situation is to make another character and level that one up according but this take much of time and effort on a gamer that has already spent the time and effort to get the original character up. To make a second and level is a big waste of time what I am hoping in the future is for SOE to provide a service for X amount of money to allow players a chance to correct there mistakes that they made in the initial creation.

Now I know I am going to get ridiculed in this forum for this topic such as "he/she probably bought the character and being accused of being a bot" this is not true. I have spent a great deal of time playing eq2 and leveling my characters some which have reached the end level. Then there are some that I haven't played for a wile that have much of time spent on them that I just don't agree with what they are anesthetically that I wish I could change. If SOE could provide this service I would be willing to pay the required to fix some of the mistakes I had made in the initial creation.

I am not a hard core role player so some of my comments will draw the ire of the hard core RPers. Personally I don't care if Sony were to let us change gender and maybe even alignment type race (ie dark elf to ogre). I really don't see much of a difference though in the races as far as classes are concerned. I would never use the service as I believe that each player develops a personality for that toon. Changing classes is and should be out of the question. If you roll a fury and decide you want a dirge.... well re roll. I don't look forward to the prospect of having someone level a scout to the 40s, pay for the class change to a healer, and then wonder why he or she isn't doing thier job. You learn to play your toon from level 1. You learn what spells you have and when to use them. That is why Sony gives us new spell lines as we progress and not all at once.

I enjoy playing at all levels of the game so I don't see it as a waste of time. If you want to get a different level 70 character in the class of your choice SOE has that for you too. Othesus - Dirge - Lucan DLere Vaspar - Fury - Lucan DLere

I belive that the class should stay the same just the race and or the sex of the charater should be more freely open to change.

The programming modifications and character integrity concerns from purely a technical perspective are monumental in this request. I think it would be a hard sell to devote the amount of development time needed to this to justify it over other objectives such as new content development.

You know, in Vanguard you can save you avatar's image and use different ones all the time. No extra costs.

None taken. Well you can't really change out sex or race in that game either. I guess you just have to be sure of what and who you want to be from the get go in any MMO. Unless someone else knows different.
