I played EQII at launch, left after first month and am back to try the game again. I have the Echoes of Faydwer retail box and am set on expansions.

I have a 23 monk on permafrost

I have a 16 warrior on permafrost

I have a 17 Necro on permafrost

I have a 15 Shadow Knight on Mistmoore

I have a 13 Warden on Antonia Bayle

I have logged each of these characters into the game and did not see much chatter or people running around my level range. I want to give this new try the best chance of success and need some advice.

1. Should I keep up these characters or start fresh on a diffrent server

2. If I start fresh, which servers are most low level friendly, are any new with a glut of new players?

3. Is the Fae and expansion gameplay worth making that my starting point?

4. Lastly, I am a casual but pretty good player, I preform my class role well (most times) I was thinking about a Swashbuckler due to their flexibility is this a good "comeback" choice?

5. If you were comming back what would be your class of choice if you had none over 25, and why?

Thanks in advance~!

EDIT: I know there are quite a few of these "I'm comming back" threads and they must get tiring but look at the good news, positive word of mouth is getting out.

Well I can't advise about servers, but if you're keen to group as much as possible I'd say roll a healer and you'll rarely be alone. I have 10 chars, and only 2 ever get tells to join groups, my warden and my SK.

I'd also say go warden, because they are decent at soloing if you can't get a group, and power seems to last forever (compared to other healer classes I've played) and the similar furies are a dime a dozen.

Those level ranges are generally pretty quiet, due to the fact that you can hit 30 pretty fast solo if you start doing discovery runs at 10 (even 20 is fine).

Once you break 30, groups in Runneye are pretty common, and you're pretty much grouping from that point forward.

Is there any server that has a reputation of being Newb or Returning player friendly?

I came back to EQ2 a few months ago. Since then I've started four new characters on my server and have seen what I feel are an abundance of low levels running around. Most are alts of high level players, but a surprising percentage seem to be actual newcomers. I've never had any trouble finding a group on Kithicor at any level range (except before 10, which I've never tried). In fact, I've gotten more blind invites than I care for.

I came back not to long ago myself, I had a char allready but wanted to relearn the game so I started over from scratch.

I made a Wizzy on blackburrow. I love my wizzy as I always seem welcome in groups for my ability to make things go Boom. I can port my group around so that helps when we are running all over looking for a zone to hunt in. I also feel I solo well, I have soloed alot durring my leveling 1 to 36 and am having a blast. I enjoy both side of game play , grouping and solo.

I tend to have to afk alot so thats when I solo. I only group when I have a couple of hours I can sit and play. I choose Blackburrow as that was where I started back when the game went live( already had a 2 room apt etc.), I find enough people to group with there and wouldnt change servers now.

I loved the EOF newbie area, the quests seemed to flow into each other and before I knew it I was level 20. I would suggest using the level channels for grouping. There may only be 3 people your level range to group with in a zone but using the channel for your level will allow you to seek group members in any zone. I offten find zone population some what low but if you use your channels there is more then likely enough people to make a group with they just happen to be spread out over the game world.

Also joining a guild can help open more doors for others to group with, just make sure the guild you join has a population of players your own level. Also their play style , if you join a hard core guild and you only play some what casual then the folks your own level will out level you, unless the guild recruits alot. So make sure you do your research here.

I did find after level 30 I decided to move my Fae to Qey ( north), it just seemed like there was less travel for me to go hunting from there. Not to mention that Qey north has everything I need ( bank , broker , my apt etc).
