Hey all, I just came over to EQ2 from WoW about a week ago, and I'm still trying to figure out what class I'm going to go with as a main. My GF and I have leveled to 22 as a good Dirge/Warden. She's very happy with the Warden, but I want to try a Brigand before committing to the grind to 70. The starting areas between the factions seem to be fairly partitioned off, will we have any trouble finding places to group together? For example, can I go to the Thundering Steppes once I catch up without being mauled by guards every time I turn around? =p Also, do the factions sort of "merge" at higher levels to be questing mostly in the same zones? Thanks for any help.

If you're on a PvE server, 99.9% of the grinding areas (aside from newbie zones and the areas right outside each city) should have neutral guards if any. The guys in Thundering Steppes aren't allied with either city, so you should be fine with them.

And for the most part, the quest lines end up being common between both alignments pretty early, as most are given outside the cities.

Also, if you have the time, its kinda fun to make your way to the other side of the fence, so to speak. I had friends that were leveling evil alts and I had a goodie troub, and darn it, if that first trek through nek forest at level 9 wasn't interesting to get to them in Commonlands

Just stay out of the oposite factions town or newbie zones, I once tried to take my low teen coercer into oakmyst forest and found to my horror guards attacking me right away, and to my great delight there were guards right were I revived as well... ahh the memories.
