I like to know the strategy of dealing with AE damage on Raids.

It does not seem like a fair deal to me. Casters can nuke out of AE range. Rangers can shoot bows from afar and still do DPS, I understand swashies can attack out of AE damage range. How is the assassin suppose to compete?

I guess when you know a mob is firing of AE you suppose to run back out of range and run back in but I don't understand how you can do decent damage compared to other classes like this. And since that is all we do is damage, well just seems like something is wrong with this picture.

resist gear, use bow cas when going in and out, cure potions. Very few AEs actually require a full joust, if at all.

Well, like Hellraiser said get good resist gear, if you are not uber but can afford some collects most of the eof collects that offer gear are pretty darn nice. Spirit Bangle, vampire circlet, the belt from ogre blood, bummer gang bandana and the list goes on. So get some of those, and big resists you want to get resist gear for in KOS are disease, poison, and heat. Those 3 are pretty and important imo, and in the course of getting gear with that my other resists are pretty high. Aside from gear you can use vitality breech poisons, or phantom handles on your weapon (i think you can on pierce). Can't stress though how big resists are, I was looking at one of our disease fights on the parse, and raid wide aoe hit everyone for about 3.5k except the new guy who got hammered for 12k, so its clear resists are very important when trying to be in melee range. Other things you can do is get health adorns on your rings and on your shoulders. Can put sta on your boots as well. There are other slots sta could go on, but you prolly want str on the others.

I understand heat and cold are the biggest been told to get that over 5k each?

The problem I find in getting resist gear is that you give up other stuff that benefits you in doing that. I guess you could run a marco and change clothing during ae mobs. I dont know I die way to much with AE stuff.

Seems to me odd though that AE effects only Assassins when it comes to a DPS class. I mean other DPS classes dont have to worry much about AE's am I right in this assumption? and if so does that sound like good game design or does that seem fair?

All melee classes have to worry about it. EOF has more AOE mobs that you have to joust than KOS did. Assassins can unload a lot of damage in a short period of time after a joust so it's less of a problem than it could be.

Learn to use ACT and its AE timer tools, when an AE is due just drop back to ranged and fire off those abilities. Once the AE hits run back in and DPS. I know personally I lose very little DPS on joust fights as I spend probably 5-10 seconds every AE cycle out of melee range.
