My delima is fae have wings which will probably get in the way of my screen, the high elfs look very ugly to me, erudites look to alien like and no hair ehhh not my style, gnomes well lets not go there they just look wierd to me, dark elfs dont even look that good to me but i dont want to do betrayel quest anyway. I know this may seem trivial but its just bothersome for me and I really would have fun with high elf or fae if they didnt have this issues. Anyways my main question is are there any wings they dont get in the way?

Pretty sure they all do. I suppose the wispier ones may get in the way less than others. Not sure what else you can do.

It you want to stick with "lore and racials" for conjurors and don't like fae wings or hairless erudites, why not choose a human?

In all fantasy worlds, humans are renown for their ability to be any class, any alignment, and live in any part of the world.

In EQ2, they're the only race with evenly balanced stats (all 20s) across all attributes for this very reason.

Though if you have your heart stuck on being a fae, create one and try out all their different wing templates.

Some are very skinny and unobtrusive.

Well im already a human in rl and to be honest thats no fun hehe I have tried many wings but they seem all seem to be in the way so far. Maybe I will give erudite another shot, I only tried one look so far and I do like there tatoos and eyes I think I was mainly judging from there bodys since they look very bizzare but cant really tell with robes.

I really like the Erudite racial vision, besides the fact they have nice stats for casters (insofar as stats matter at all). Once you get used to the kind of alien look, they can look ok.

Here's a couple Erudite pictures:

Also, have you tried the SOGA models? I find the high elf and dark elf males look a bit less feminine with your alternate SOGA models on. Might be worth checking out anyway. And you could probably make an argument for half elf being an appropriate caster class. A half elf could easily inherit the affinity for magic from a high elf parent (OR a human parent). And don't forget the Iksar - traditionally they were excellent necromancers. In the past the other caster types were considered inferior for Iksars but they clearly had the magic talent, and nowdays, there's no reason why a necromancer might not branch out into conjuration or similar.

Isnt iskar evil? And while soga models do look cool I agree but not everyone has those on and my guys expression was like arggh something like a fighter instead of a wise caster. Maybe im being to picky but im really into my casters hehe.

I honestly don't have any problem with wings getting in the way on my fae warlock. I really do't think that aconj would be any different.

Hmm maybe I did not try it long enough, so you didnt notice it getting in the way of watching your pet fight and your graphics?

Yep, Iksar are evil, you'd need to betray to be a good caster. And yes, not everyone uses SOGA models. On the other hand, not everyone uses 'normal' models. No matter which you pick, SOGA or original, someone will be viewing you wrong. I figure, use whichever models you prefer, put a note in your persona window Details tab biography saying "Please view me with SOGA models" (or "no SOGA models&quot and so long as you loo good to yourself, be happy, because it's impossible to look good to everybody!

As for the wings getting in the way ... probably depends what distance you like to scroll out your view to. If you like your 'camera point of view' to be right behind your character's head, the wings probably will get in the way, yes ... but if you don't mind scrolling further out, it's not a problem. I usually play scrolled out as far as possible in 3rd person view, and fae wings haven't been a problem for me at all.

Also, in the options (alt-O) in the "Controls", in the "View Options" section, there is a tick box called 'enable combat auto face camera'. This makes the camera view swing around so that you're always viewing your character from behind. If you turn it off, your character will still turn to face the monster he's autoattacking, but your camera view no longer swings around to get stuck behind his wings. If you aren't particularly attached to having your camera view swing around, then that might help avoid the wings-in-the-face too.

On the other hand, if you MUST have your point of view close in behind his head and you MUST swing the camera angle around all the time ... then yeah, you probably will always have fae wings in your face!

Pictorial demonstration from my own Fae on test server ..., I usually view fights from the side anyways.

You'll never know that someone's seeing you in the other model type unless they tell you, but honestly I can't see how that would really matter unless you were a die hard roleplayer. You can set both models so you can get something you can live with for both. Also don't forget that in this game you can twiddle features individually (less leeway in SOGA from what I saw though) so that you can change the expression and facial structure of your char.

Hey thanks everyone, I picked erudite because I think the summon wisp ability looked cool and I think they look wise espically mine and the glyphs rock, they do look kind of alien but hey ill get use to it, it is everquest after all I guess I was annoyed from the past games like wow all the male gnomes looked like perverts seriously, and I love gnomes as I do all races except humans in games. But the gnome in this game had to big of a nose for me hehe anyways my name is Lovorian on butcherblock any other newbies want to group with me take care
