Ok my main is a pally and I want to make an alt character. I am thinking of making a fae since I never have played this race before. Also I kind if want to do spells but cant decide on which class is funner to play. I have this serious problem with MMO's I never know what to play lol but yeah I want something in magic dealing but not evil like I said either as a Fae or a High Elf perhaps? Your thoughts here......

Oh and another question before I just hit the submit button. I also want to make a "mule" per se more or less a carpenter but that would be like a 3rd alt lol

Well, there's no reason your new Fae can't also be your carpenter! You don't necessarily need a third alt.

As for what to pick ... I suggest you have a read over these class descriptions.

Good-side magic users would give you the choice of:

Illusionist

Conjuror

Wizard

Warlock

You might also want to consider dirge and troubadour, they are scout classes but use a mix of melee attacks and magic and have some very nice buffs.

Questions you should ask yourself before you pick:

Do you want to be a fantastic soloer, or is just OK good enough?

Do you want to be very desirable in groups, or is just OK good enough?

Do you want to be very desirable in high level raiding, or is just OK good enough?

Do you enjoy (or strongly dislike) any particular role in a group (e.g. healing, buffing, doing huge damage, tanking, leading the group around)?

Answer those questions and you should get a much better idea of how to narrow down your class choices to ones you might enjoy. Don't worry about trying out quite a few classes though, sometimes it takes a while before you find one that just "clicks"! I know it took me about 6 characters before I found one that I was interested in getting past 30 or so. Nothing wrong with that!

/agree with Didi. Don't be afraid to experiment and mix it up a bit. 1st toon I ever rolled was a Ratonga Assassin. Deleted. I made a Dwarf Inquisitor (finished betrayal and everything). Deleted. (Yeah, I know, now my main's an Inquisitor anyway. . . Believe me, I felt dumb for deleting the dwarf). Heck, I've probably deleted 30 or more different toons that didn't "click" with me. Just roll it and see what you think. Worst that happens you have a couple of hours of fun, then you get to try something else.

Now if only I could figure out why I waited 40 levels before I deleted that berserker that bored me so badly. . . . It's okay though, I still have 9 toons that are 48 or higher that I enjoy playing
