Hi we're currently starting a trio me and 2 other family members. One is an SK, the other is a Fury, and then theres me, i'm not really sure what to go with and what would be more beneficial to the group. I started a Ceorcer and I don't know if I really like it all that much and not sure if it would be a great choice with the SK's AE lifetap etc...any input would be great thanks!

Personally I'd go for a DPS scout, probably swash as first choice because their AE and hate transfering complements an SK nicely, assassin next because of the hate transfer again. Also nice to have someone that can pop chests and gets evac at 25 (and on a shorter reuse than SK evac too). Make sure you pick a class you'll enjoy though, any trio with an offensive tank and priest can do well pretty much anywhere with any third class hehe.

If you didnt want the scout type, perhaps a wizard, something with good dps. Watch out for stealing agro though

@loserfacenerd From some point of view a coercer can be very powerful but only as highlevel and it's a pain until there. Maybe better to choose a wizzy (single target focused) or a warlock (AE-focused). Illusionist would be also good (similar to coercer but no hazzle with charm-breaks).

Id agree with what other's already said, DPS class is the best way to go. I'm guessing you're gonna choose a Freeport/Evil class so I'll only list them. Firstly I just want to note that it was a while since I grouped at a low level and some of the things I list may only apply to high level characters. What speaks for Scouts in general is Evac and DPS, you would also wear Chain armor which neither of your family members can or should use. Assasin, hate buff for tank, good dps with poisons and backstabs. Brigand, not so much dps but debuffs mobs and can tank best of the scouts if need be. Dirge, hate buff to tank power regen to group, can act as aggro control (mez etc), also a bit lower on the dps scale. Trobadour, hate debuffs for all but fighters other than that fairly similar to dirge. What speaks for a Mage one is that they wear cloth armor which neith er of the other two does but then it depends, some have alot of usability some have goo d DPS, you should choose one with dps if you're on ly thinking of grouping mostly with eachother. Coercer, hate buff, agro control, power regen, but if you want to dps and "grab" a pet you have to lose alot of group buffs to have o ne. Necromancer, petclass with alot of dots, can resurect and a tiny bit of power regen. Can feigndeath and perhaps the best class to pull nameds without having to kill all mobs in between the group and the named mob. Warloc, very high AE damage. Wizard very high single target damage, can hate transfer and powerfeed (give of his own power) to other groupmembers. they can also port, this is redundant for your group though. If it was me I'd be choosing between dirge, assasi n, necro and wizard. A swashy although not from freep ort would be very tempting too, they can do very g ood ae dps and give away some of their hate to the tank. But in the end I'd probably end up going fo r the dirge.

I personally would play a brigand as the third class. Evac, tracking, and group stealth are awesome utilities to have when hunting in dungeons. At higher levels they can pretty much stun lock/root a mob until its dead. Not to mention debuffs, getting to play with poisons, and they make a poor man's tank if need be with their chainmail, defensive stance, and self buffs (can also get very in depth with rogue tanking via AAs).

I'm also sorta surprised noone has mentioned bruiser (or monk). Good dps and secondary tank. Would be nice to play a class that could tank if one day your shadowknight was unable to play IMO.

As far as the other stuff like hate transfers and group deaggros and buff classes and such, I don't think it will make too much of a difference to be worth the lost dps and slow killing times in a trio. 1 tank 1 dps 1 healer, shouldn't have too much trouble with hate. And if you played a brigand (or swashy/predator) you could use deaggro poisons if it was really that big of an issue. I think choosing a bard, another healer, or plate tank would be about the worst option. Everything else should do pretty well in that trio.

Oh, and coercer dps is very weak if they don't have a master mage pet charmed (or similar high dps mob). The crowd control and mana management is awesome and can save the group against seemingly impossible odds, but the coercer will need a good master quality pet to do any respectable dps IMO.
