My roommate and I having been playing characters based out of Kelethin for the majority of the time we've been playing. However, we've each made a couple of alts and are trying to get them together. I did the betrayal quest and am in the process of earning faction with Freeport so I can become a citizen. My roommate created a character in Freeport already and wants to help me out with the faction gaining quests. The problem is, neither one of us have any idea how to get from Freeport to Qeynos! Can someone tell me how he can meet me in Antonica? Also, is there a website that has maps that show how all these zones fit together?

From Freeport to Qeynos --

Through the Commonlands, head to Nektulos Forest - and through the Forest, head to the docks area on the beach. From there, you can travel to the Thundering Steppes and through that zone, it will take you to Antonica.

eq2.gamepressure.com is a great website for maps.

Hope this helps!

The easiest way to get from Freeport to Qeynos is to talk to the harbor master in East Freeport and buy a ticket to the Thundering Steppes. From there, follow the road to the right until you get to the Antonica gates. Go down the hill to the left in Antonica and you can ride the griffon to Qeynos. That's the easy way, but it costs you 60s.

The hard way involves a hike through some unsavory areas depending on your level. Take the griffon from Freeport to Nektulos Forest. Go through Nektulos following the road to the left until you get to the docks. From there you can take a bell to the Thundering Steppes and do the same thing as the easy way. This is the hard way because Nektulos is filled with aggro and unless you're around level 15 or so with invis, getting through it is a heart thumping ride.

>Also, is there a website that has maps that show how all these zones fit together? http://maps.eq2interface.com/

Thanks guys! That helps a ton! I've downloaded the EQ2Maps addon but all it seems to add are dots where quests start, items spawn etc. Now that feature is awesome but is it supposed to do something else? Are there some options for it that I just haven't turned on? I should probably go and look at the site but I thought I'd ask here too!

An even easier way is to use the spires in commonlands to go to Tenebrous Tangle. Once in TT, use the portal and go to antonica. Or, vice-versa.

Or, get a mage, wizard or warlock, to teleport you to the Antonica spire or the Commonlands spire, whichever way you want to go.

Nope, that about covers it. The addon tells you where things are, but you do need to actually go places to remove the fog and see the map itself. Of course, that link also has images of the maps, so you don't have to install the addon to see where you're going, just to get real-time in-game mappage.

To be honest, until you know where you are going (have the fog of war lifted) EQ2 maps isn't anymore helpful than the standard maps that come with the game.

I 'think' you can disable the fog in EQ2 maps, showing you the whole area without you having to go there but I don't know how to do that.

And to be completely honest, the easiest way to get to Commonlands from Antonica these days is to take the Antonica Kingdom of Sky spires (also known as wizard spires and ulteran spires) up to Tenebrous Tangle and immediately click the spires again when you get up there. You'll have the choice of Antonica or Commonlands for going back down. Those should be both marked on the EQ2 maps with small yellow triangles in a circle =).

Doing the run at a low level is a rush though =) so if you are adventurous or lack the KoS expansion I suggest doing that.

Heh. I made the run from Ant to CL via Nek Forest at level 13 on my mystic. And this was back when the river was still full of aggro fish and *everything* in Nek Forest was aggro and heroic and wandered onto the road. SoW definitely helped.

I also managed the opposite direction at level 9 on my warlock. No SoW there, just got lucky with a couple of groups in front of me clearing the road.

Too bad you can't just group with a high level and gray the whole zone like you could then. Stupid gray aggro. . .

BTW, if you downloaded the EQ2maps add-on, when you open the map there are 3 tabs at the top of the map. Choose the "world" tab" and it will show you the world map with how the zones connect and there's even a little box you can check or uncheck that shows you where the boats and carpets run too.

hehe, flashbacks ...

At release the run through Nektulos to the docks was extremely perilous. Even the run From Antonica zone to Thundering Steppes was hazardous. And, there were no griffon towers in those zones. They game in later with a world event to build them. Things are much easier now.
