Title says it all, sorry if it's been discussed before I want to know if the constant +10 dps on the Cloak of Flames works out to be more than the +15 proc on the Cloak of Valor or vice versa.... any thoughts?

Cloak of flames is +25 haste and some stats unless they changed it. I just looked it up on IDB. There is no dps mod. Being as there are numerous ways to get haste(amulet of forsworn, yelinak talisman, those treasured gloves whatever they are called), IMO the marr cloak is the way to go, unless of course you dont have access to raid content or cant afford a good legendary/treasured haste item, then you may be better off with the cloak of flames from a pure dps standpoint.

If you already have a+22 or better haste item you are just adding some hitpoints and stats by using the COF over the marr cloak, which procs very often off of ranged.

In summary, if you have good haste item already marr is better. if not, then cof will do you better.

Iago

Agree with Iago. It really depends on your own gear and stats.

The only thing I can add is that assuming your DPS and haste mods are both zero, haste is better if you have anything that procs due to the way the proc mechanics are set up. But since rangers bring a good amount of haste already self-buffed, this should really be an issue.

I currently use the CoF because I'm lacking in itemization. Can't seem to ever win that dang amulet of forsworn and, we rarely go after Harla Dar anymore anyway. But if I'm in a group with good haste buffs, I'll switch to the CoV.

Thanks guys, I usually have adequate haste buffage so Cloak of Valor is looking like the way to go...

Umm, it's an access quest reward. Hehe

... keeping this thread on topic, I use CoV. I don't have the cloak of flames. Personally, I am just trying to get used to the Haste I have, and not change things so much.

Canul
