I had no idea where to post this question... I know that you can send tells to swg and eq1 players.  I was wondering if you can send tells to vanguard players?

Last time I tried sending a tell from SWG, I had to start Teamspeak because the game.server.name tell format didn't work. Did they change it? Or are you thinking from days that the two games shared the system?

I don't know anyone who plays SWG anymore so haven't tried in years actually.  Didn't know it was broken.  I just have alot of friends that are trying out Vanguard and would like to harass them about what they're missing lol.

Maybe it's best to keep that line closed. Who knows, maybe all those million bugs will start to crawl over from Vanguard to EQ2? <img src="/smilies/385970365b8ed7503b4294502a458efa.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Ok.. to be a bit serious - If someone have some time to implement this I wouldnt mind having the ability to send tells to Vanguard.

<p>I think eq1 to swg requires a slightly different command then /tell.  For some reason im thinking it was " and I forget if the game was just eq, eq1 or eql now.  I know eq2 to SWG works fine, was talking that way the other night.</p>

<p>You can't currently cross server chat between Vanguard and EQ2.  I'm sure  that will change over time but remember Vanguard isn't technically an SOE game... SOE just handles the billing and distribution.</p><p>To chat between other SOE games the formula is game.server.name, so:</p><p>/tell eq.stromm.Mhenlo to chat with my toon on Stromm</p><p>/tell eq2.the_bazaar.Niedermayer to chat with my toon on The Bazaar</p>

Can you join cross game chat channels.

Not sure on the channels.  It probably depends on the game.  I think EQ2 and SWG worked for channels.  Also in SWG at least you can add other game's characters to your friends list.  Think in the matrix as well, because I remember seeing EQ2 characters saying they have logged into the matrix when they logged into EQ2 lol.

if you open the lines of communication all the viruses and bugs from vanguard will start crawling to eq2.  who knows, maybe <i>The Vision </i>(tm) is going to crawl over to eq2 servers and then all hope is forfeit.

Over in vangaurd anything that even remotly breaks there rules gets a player a swift kick in the [Removed for Content] like... GOLD SELLING. Now over here as anyone with an eyeball can see is not the case. I actually think some of the cash is given twards this game. Anyway so basically ud have informents over here sending tells to vangaurd people over there saying hey man buy my gold BUYMYGOLDBUYMYGOLD CHI CHOW HIYANA!!!! So as the poster said no please no only id ad a heeeellllllll no!

<p>I'm not sure if you can at the moment.  Vanguard is still a Sigil game.  I would imagine if cross-game communication was to be possible it woud have to be part of the code.  This, I imagine, would not be up in priority of the features and fixes to be worked on.  I don't know though.</p>

If not, then i see no reason why they couldnt cross chat with vanguard.

<span style="color: #cc33ff">I would like cross talk with vangaurd too, but to my knowledge there aren't any chat channels like that in vg. Like I said I only play it a couple times a week and just with my buds from here... but was just thinking that might be why that function isn't there yet.</span>
