My Coercer is now lvl 70 with 96 AA's and honestly i'm a bit disapointed. I mainly use the toon for instances and buff bot on raid. I dont dislike the class, I had fun solo'ing her up, and running around the bonemire with a corpse candle was a blast. At the moment though I find the class somewhat lacking for what I want to do. Coercive healing is awesome for the MT group but i'm rarely in the MT group, instead i'm left to dps buff a few scouts. My thinking was with a illusionist i'd have a bit more dps, and some great buffs such as time compression and illusionary arm. Still undecided at the moment, i'm going to wait till I get 100 AA's then make up my mind. Has any coercer made this switch, what was it like, better/worse than you expected?

I had a 45 coercer that I betrayed over to illusionist because I got sick of the nocharm mobs that no plague almost everywhere. I already know I'm going back to coercer once I hit about 60 or so. I'm almost to level 50 already, and I will say that Illusionist has a lot more sustainable dps than coercer, but I did notice I have a lot more power regen options for myself with a coecer... on hard mobs (I'm talking yellow ^^^, K?) I've run out of power on the illusionist whie I would still have good power on the coercer.

I do have perpetuality, and it is insane how fast my stuff flies out on the illusionist, and I like the damage and the ease of the pet, but I know I'm not staying illusionist past 60. I already miss the excitement of trying different mobs, and various things coercers do that illy can only really dream of.

I am hoping that once I get into the range that I can play with the 70s in my guild, that I won't need to rely on PUG, that seem almost rare anymore. Besides... with all the crappy tanks out there, I can usually get father solo'ing than grouping.

I'm ranting now, so I'll shut up and go away, hehe. But one last thing ... I MISS MY COERCER! (although illy IS a lot of fun)

I really don't know why you would switch to Illusionist, sure they have more sustainable DPS but neither is a DPS class. I would say get a DPS toon to 70 so you have some options in raids but honestly I have a 70 necro and I get the same feeling of stagnation once in a while, I think that unless you are constantly raiding extremely high end raids constantly then it is always going to get a little boring at the level cap no matter the class, it has been said before but at level cap you kinda have to make your own fun.

Not to mention the fact that we are going to have another expansion soon, that means new areas to discover, new pets to charm, new abilities to master and new dungeons/raids that are going to require your expertise, personaly if you wanted to do it I would wait until you hit 80 then decide, mainly because if you are 70 with all those AA's I imagine you have quite a few masters and if you betray now it means getting all new masters and some gear while you can build up up a back-up supply for Ill on your way to 80 if you decide to switch.

I would have t agree, hehe. They are fun, so long as they keep moving. But when they only pull 1 ^ heroic at a time ... I feel like droppin group to plow ahead solo, hehe.

I had a group last night in RE, I was playing with my Inquisitor, and we had another mystic for healing, so this 39 SK we had for tanking should have been flying through with 2 healers to back him up. He was pulling down-arrow mobs one at a time O_O So when asked to speed up and position them for the brigand in the group, he went LD, lol. I grabbed my 42 SK and totally owned the place. Pulled whole rooms with only 1 healer, and had a blast. I think SK is the only other prof I have had as much fun as the coercer/illusionist. Its just a shame so many tanks out there, especially before tier 5 or so just plain SUCK. I even had one comment last night "crazy SK!" and when I asked about MY tanking, they said they only had 1 problem with it ... it was too good.

I'm ranting again however. A good tank, a good healer, and a good enchanter are some of the best fun things to ever be.
