Ha ha ha. I've given the obligatory laugh at the April Fool's thing. Now how do I turn it off?

Someone told me in-game. /cutemode I really want a /noholiday switch. Instead of inflicting these things on everyone, would it really hurt that much to make it optional?

Nice thing is, I can keep it on, and you STILL look like you have a fat head!

Bristlebane day is so cruel...but i want the "Your on fire!" message lol

I just want to be able to opt out. I don't care for practical jokes, I don't want to have to endure endless Christmas marketing in a game as well as in real life, and I really don't want to have various Hallmark-owned holidays inflicted on my gaming. Worst of all, they're usually forced upon us for weeks in here, whereas the holiday ends in a day in the real world. If you enjoy these things, that's fine. But those of us who don't should have some choice other than logging out for days or weeks to avoid them.

Well it only takes a few seconds to type /cutemode...so its not that big of a deal

Seriously. Just type /cutemode. This isnt even anything new. you could go into cutemode anytime, they just turned it on for everyone today. Compared to last years celebrations this is really lame. Last year we had those great system messages and that quest for the 3 foot ring : ) This year we get an already established feature turned on for us : P Guess Vanguard is taking all the devs time now.

But, why not.

As for the Vanguard comment, the EQ2 developers don't work on Vanguard, they have a separate team I am sure.

On a final note, the game that shall not be named seemed to do nothing for April fools ......interesting. I logged on, saw the bubblehead, freaked out then logged off and hit the forums. I'm so glad this *is* just a joke and will be gone tomorrow. I do so hate those bubbleheads and feel a bit unclean knowing that option has always existed in the game. At anytime someone ingame could be looking at the world through bubbleheaded glasses /cold shiver

Last year's April Fools day was great with you have died and you are on fire messages throughout the day. I, for the life of me, could not figure out why I was dead or where the source of the fire was coming from. To the OP, it takes very little time to turn off and the devs are just trying to make the game more interesting. I know a few have lost interest and its nice to know that they at least tried to do something for us.

Nice to know I'm not the only one not amused by "cutemode". I find it grotesque, not cute.

Conversely, the "announcement" of the new character class had me rolling on the floor in uncontrollable hysterical laughter. Always wanted a reason to call myself Indiana....

whew people sure are [Removed for Content] about things...its sad really that in our world today no one can take care of themselves and they must blame it on others, /cutemode turns it off if you don't like don't complain about it just turn it off. by god this world already has enough complainers.

Honestly [Removed for Content] this [Removed for Content], god [Removed for Content] this is stupid. He would say some funny stuff then most likely die from the mob. It was useful at times, and very confusing at first, but it had a really bad side effect of causeing some nasty death loops. You die, gobby res, you die, gobby res, ect.. untill you could get an evac off or the mob killed the goblin before he could res you. So they did indeed try something new, but thankfully it wasn't pushed to live. And be glad for that.

Brega - 70 Ranger, Test Server

I spit coffee on my keyboard laughing at the goblin who appeared when I died to a bunch of Blades Guards today.

Very cute!

Well, the one seriously bad thing about the big heads is that it messes up new character generation. Maybe not so bad if someone is just making an alt, but if there was a true new player then it's a real hassle creating their character.

If they do this again in the future they might want to disable the big head look when it comes to character creation.
