I can only select from my station id and 2 characters on he "switch personas" screen. Plus, one of the two characters listed is not one I checked to be public, and the one I want to have public is not there.

See the stickied issues list. I suspect that the characters you see available are guilded and the ones you aren't seeing are not guilded. If so, that is covered in the issues list. If not, some more details would be helpful so that maybe we can correlate your issue with others and figure something out. The issue with the public vs. private issue is something I personally don't have a firm grasp on yet, though I recall Seagoat was having some issues with it. Have you tried going to eq2players.com and changing the public/private settings there? My hunch is that something isn't passing between the forum preferences and eq2players.com correctly.

It could very well be intentional behavior since an unguilded character can be very anonymous as well as malicious. For example, assuming I get past the name filter, I could create a "Densesucks" character, then proceed to use that as my forum handle. Someone that is guilded is less apt to be such a troublemaker as it would tarnish the name of the guild. Granted, I think the forum moderators would frown on any misbehavior and posters abusing it would regret it, but I'm just trying to think of all the possibilities with why it may be the way it is. Personally, I think even if it is unintentional to exclude unguilded characters, there should be ways of allowing them. Maybe just increase the timer between changes if you use an unguilded character or something like that to resist the urge to misbehave.

That seems to be the behavior. Well, this could be easily solved by simply stating this behavior on the "switch personas" screen. Then everyone would know about it and not think it's a bug.

Well that's a silly reasoning actually. Anyone can make themselves a guild ... it just requires finding 5 other people willing to group to form it. I know plenty of people in guilds of one (player).
