heres My Idea:

Restrictions -

Mining Axes - Other Harvesting Enhancements I think should only be tradeskill level instead of combat level, (keeps alot of stress off People Starting the game, trying to make money, Also makes it where you have to be a level 50 tradeskill prof to use that sweet mining axe, this way a low level could grind tradeskills and then be able to make money by using stuff only lvl 50s could use).

Shinys, there should be a penalty for gathering shinys, Shinys should have a level restriction, like combat, you cant pick up a level 1 shiny if your level 70, enless you mentor down to a level 1, kind of like that, that would make it where they cant go and ninja loot things, sell them for ridiculous prices. [Nope it doesnt have anything to do with tradeskilling, But it would end alot of complaining]

Improvements -

Crafters Should beable to Spend AA Points for better chances of getting Rares From harvesting, but only certain proffessions should have different harvesting ones, Such As Armorer - 0/15 1:Improves Mining Chance by 1%, (max 10%)

Armorers Should Beable To Make Adornments that Actually Change the Appearance of Items, Like Adding an Insignia for stats, Or Horns on a Vanguard Helmets (even NonCrafted ones)

Weaponsmiths should beable to "Sharpen" weapons, Adding a Bonus to Slashing/Peircing/crushing based on the level on the Weaponsmith, without adornments. (even noncrafted)

I also Think Rares from mining (Feysteel ect) should be able to be made by melting down Looted "rare" armor, (but not purchased), Like 10 Feysteel [Chestplates, ect] melted down could make a Feysteel Cluster.

About No Trade.

I think No-Trade Should Be Removed From Over half the Items in the Game, Loot, so people can sell it on the broker if they already did the quest, and it bums people out if they get something that they didnt need from a raid (no trade) and wasted all there time.

Moderation of Level Channals - Level Channals Should be a bit moderated, keeping out Some Chat People dont want, also could lesson spamming, Plat Farmers selling there wares, There should be none of that, its a channal for finding help, people who You know, Should be booted for at the most 24 hours from the channal.

Broker Auctions - Brokers Should Beable to Auction Rare Items (how this works)

You Select a Buyout, A Starting bid, people Select how much they bit for it, and at the end, the person who bids highest, or selects B/o (instant sale to player). can get the item.

Some good idea's. Now if SOE will read them! Improvements: Really good idea's. There should be a achievement tree devoted to the Artisan, same as the class and specific profession trees we have now. Each of the lines could be based on the tradeskill skills (ie fletching, scribing, chemistry, ect.). initially providing skillups, then increases for durability, progression and success. Then reduced power usage, greater chance of byproducts. Finally mastery of specific types of products (ie. Master Sword Maker, Master Shield Maker, Master Potion Maker, ect) The idea for adding bonuses to items would be nice, but i see a systems problem. For each variation of a item a new database item must be created, including the new stats, and image. This could become very large and slow down the game. Currently the adornment method limits the size of the database entries with no change to the image of the item. But, it would be nice to at least change the color of items. The idea of melting down items to their original components would be a nice variation for the transmuter. You could call it Recycling. No trade; When EQ2 started there were very few "No Trade" items, they added the "No Trade" tag to reduce compettion with the tradeskillers from looted or quest items. Many things have changed to make handcrafted item better in a lot of cases then looted or quest rewards, but i do not think SOE will reverse this change. Moderation of Chat; Question: Does IGNORE work on normal chat or just TELL's? If it does that is one way to limit some unwanted Chat. But paying someone to moderate chat 24/7 on all of the channels may be pushing SOE to raise prices. As far as the annoying Plat Farmers, unless as someone in another thread has suggested for mail, use a beysian filter. The drawback is this slows down the chat being displayed, not good in a group or raid situation. Broker Auctions; Ebay comes to EQ2. There are a couple of problems with this, one it creates another database which means more resources($$$), and two there is a issue with patent infringement as even in the virtual world. But, that does not mean someone could not promote a private chat channel and run there own auctions. Restrictions; I put this last because here i disagree with your ideas. Rant section (ignore if you want) Harvesting Tools - should not be restricted to tradeskill level only as is currently the case of Tinkered harvesting tools (not Woodworker build tools). This in my opinion is a mater of gameplay style. There is crafting, adventuring and there is harvesting(or as i like to think of it "hunting and gathering&quot. I believe these tools if level dependent should be based on the higher of tradeskill or adventurer level. The benifits of this are reduced prices for raw materials for crafters and a source of money for all. The more people that can harvest and the more efficiently they can perform that function, the greater the amount of available raw materials. Assuming supply and demand work in the virtual world(this is a seperate debate) then the price of the raw materials will go down as supply is increased. Which will make crafters, based on there comments in the forums happier. It will also make adventures happier if the cost for consumable crafted items (food, poison, arrows, ect) was also reduced. Shinys - I'm still collecting them for level 10 collection quests and I'm a level 59 ranger. If you want to stop what you call looting then make the shinys "No Trade". I know how you feel about that choice, but then the only reason to collect them is to complete collections quests and not for sale. However, that means you could not give them to a alt, guildie, or group member. There is no answer that will please everyone, at least not yet.

I love the idea of an AA tree for Artisans. It would be really neat to see Artisan AA added to the game. Level restrictions on shinies? No, don't agree with the OP on that one. Some collection quests take a loooong time to complete (unless you're rolling in plat and can afford to buy all the rare items). I don't want to have to disable combat exp just to finish collection quests. Moderated chat? Nah. Just use /ignore. My only complaint about the level chat channels is that I want an option to NOT auto-join them when I ding into a new level tier. Broker auctions? I think the broker system works pretty well as it is now. I'd like to see the addition of an "ordering" system, though, where players could post an advert for an item they want and a crafter or another player could fulfill the order and receive payment. Now THAT would be a real boon to artisans (especially those of us with artisan characters who are anti-social...LOL...I'd be very happy to fill orders for specific items and specific prices. If I have to haggle and look for work, though, I'd rather just...well...not do that!)

To many lawyers with nothing worthwhile to do. Actually thinking about it a reverse auction would be nice. You ask for item/spell and set a maximum price and let the crafters/looters bid on it. More like Priceline, then Ebay.
