New Coercer Hat - Dissapointed

<p>I logged in yesterday and my coercer hat (the one with threat reduction) looks like a wizard's hat now, only blue.  I was so dissapointed.  I really liked the look of my previous tan and blue "pillow" hat.  Now I look like so many other mages.</p><p> I was curious to see what other Coercer's thought about the change, but to my surprise, I didn't see any posts talking about it.  Maybe this is old news, I don't know.</p><p> Anyway, I just was wondering what other Coercers think about the change.  I know a lot of people didn't like the pillow hat, but I did.</p><p> Also, has the "Brood" quest class hat been changed to look similar to this new wizard's hat?</p><p> Calmwind</p>

The new coercer hat is NOT in yet.  If yours has changed appearance, then it's just temporary filler graphic until the new one actually is implemented.  Though why they'd change us from the Illusionist's pillow to the wizard's pointy as a filler is beyond me. . . .

They probably made the temp change due to the fact that everyone cried about the 'pillow' look....nah. More than likely, they were removing the design from the game since it was intented for the hat to change, but since it didn't, might as well the hat a design that's currently in the game. But, as you can see, some people wont like this look either. TBH....it doesn't make that much of a difference to me. In all the games I've played it's always about stats. Looks are a distant second.....but hey, that's just me.

the new hat will have a big eyeball on the front that is always looking directly at everyone...  once they fix the clipping error with the male erudites large skulls...

It would be odd for them to temporarily change all the hats since for everyone else the change was optional.  I know several people who didn't turn in their warlock hat because they were appalled by the new one.

<p>Only thing I'm not excited about it the mustard color.  That should be black (or at least a much darker color.  Aside from that I believe it's great.</p>

I can imagine the discussion between the developers went like this: First Dev:  Hey, come here and look at the idea I have for the new coercer class hat! Second Dev:  -stares at the screen-  Whoa dude, looks just like that eyeball that floats up in the soup in that Indiana Jones movie.  That's like freaky messed up! First Dev:  Yeah I know!  And then I made it baby poop brown.  I RULE! Second Dev:  Hey, buy you a beer after work.  I need some ideas on making armor colors clash, maybe we can collaborate.  Did you see the conjurer hat!  Haha!  They look like condom heads now, the whole lot of them. First Dev:  Yeah, soon we'll have ruined the look of all the mage classes, and our work will be done. Seriously guys, this is the suckiest hat ever.  I'd far rather get my pillow hat than that one.  Why can't we have a circlet, or maybe a better colored hat that has a gem in the front rather than some gross looking eyeball.  Poop brown?  ugh.   I'm not even sure it's worth getting and if I ever do I"m never showing the graphic.  EVER.

Even if you dont like the look of the new hat you have to admit that the eye is the coolest feature of any hat in the game.

I don't think anyone else's hat comes with something as animated as that, let alone tracking.</p><p>Shape isn't all that bad... anything looks good on a ratonga anyways. The colour may be off a little, but lighting and the whole Hoo'loh vs Relic vs Set, etc means you probably have your options at colours.</p><p>Personally.. I'm going to switch mine as soon as I can, and stand by the broker to freak people out. Maybe try and get another short coercer to stand next to me so two eyes are tracking everyone.</p>

I think we need to see some screenshots of the hat on different races and from better angles. Right now we have a weird top down screenshot that's only meant to show the bug with the erudite model, not to try and sell us the hat

At work, so cannot post screenshots, but I am an Iksar Coercer and my new eyeball hat (which I was really excited to get) makes me look like an organ grinder's monkey. It is super small and sits on the very top of my head like a cupcake.</p><p>It looks ridiculous. Wish somebody in the art dept would have spent a little more time designing the Iksar version to account for all the crest patterns instead of resizing the darned thing so that it would sit on top.</p><p>Only thing I can coerce out of people now is laughter.</p>
