Race Change?

When I first started this game, I didn't think I'd get as into it as I did. As a newbie, I chose a half-elf just because. Now I'm level 70 and, after looking at all the different races, I wish I had chose something more exciting than just some half-elf, or a race that looks better. I don't want to roll another toon just for this change; any chance we can be given the option to change our race somehow in the future? Edit: And yes, I know about things like the Mask of Deception and the Petrified Eyes.

yes, it's not going to be possible to change your race beyond what you have already mentioned with illusions.  You are stuck as a half-elf unless you choose to reroll.

It was just a suggestion people; no need to be so serious about it. I see people put up suggestions all the time so I figured one more couldn't hurt. Heck, they could make it like respecs except cost a lot more.

<p>Not being overly serious or joking, just answering your suggestion.  The devs have stated many times before on posts that this will never happen.</p><p>So this means that it is 99.9999(repeating of course)% probably not ever going to be put in.</p>

Gotcha. Of course, I've seen several things they said wouldn't happen, well, happen, so I guess it's not completely out of the realm of possibility. Thanks for the input, man.

It is a good suggestion but I really doubt it would happen.  That is why I play many alts lol. To be able to play different races and classes.

<p>Leaving that it would comepletely destroy RP elements, all games have to have some basic concepts, such as one race cannot randomly change to another except for illusions.  It would compeletely destroy immersion if you could just switch races when you feel like it.  Thats in the lines with a godmode ability, not a MMORPG game ability.  Even single player games except for cheats would normally not allow you to do something like this.  You have a number of character slots, and while I can understand not wanting to delete and start over, you can always start one, get it up to level 70 then switch to playing that one full time.  It's just a basic option that you have to define at creation, and not change later.</p>

<p>I agree that would be really cool if we could change our race when we go to the barber or use our veteran reward mirror. What would it hurt? Currently we can make illusions. I would roll a new race for it's racial traits and how they suit my class the best. I dont see any negatives to this other than a gajillion fae running around jumping off islands in KoS.</p>
