Game Crashes from mass ram useage

Ok when im playing and just running in town the game will crash and say that it was because it asked for a gig of ram why is the game asking for that much ram i have 3 gigs but it should not need a gig to run it usaly crashes just walking through freeport

how many background application do you have running? what setting are you running eq2 at? Anything above balanced uses more than 1 gig of ram on average. If you find yourself running out of memory, turn off all background applications or anything else you are actively running and lowering you settings down a notch or two.

There is an issue in vista with certain nvidia cards.  Basically your textures memory is not being released so after a bit of time your comp runs out of memory and you get that silly error and game crashes to desktop.

Post your dxdiag please. In Windows 2000/XP: 1. Click on the start menu 2. Click run 3. Type dxdiag and click OK 4. Run the various diagnostics and click "Save All Information" 5. Paste the text of the file you saved to your hard drive in this thread. In Windows Vista: 1.
