I am a Wood Elf Conjuror, just about to level to 18, and just today discovered my weapons have disappeared somehow, can someone offer advice on what to buy and from where? Thanks!

That's kind of weird...weapons don't just disappear like that. Very strange. Anyway, to get a weapon for a level 18 conjuror, you can either buy from an in-game merchant (not recommended) or get a player-made weapon. Player-made items can be found in two major ways: 1. Broker. Brokers can be found in all city zones. In Qeynos, they're also found in the racial towns in the tradeskill instances. 2. Commission. Ask in your tradeskill channel for someone to make you a weapon. Most crafters will be happy to help you decide what would work well for you, or you can do a bit of research on the conjuror boards to find out which kind of weapon you'd like. Crafters will make you something to order for a fee, and it's usually cheaper than the broker. You'd want to find a woodworker if you want a staff, a weaponsmith for daggers, and a jeweler (or tailor, if you like carrying books) for offhand and ranged items. If you choose to check on the broker, make sure you get a weapon appropriate to your level, and not one that is too low or too high. Too low, and you might as well not have it, and too high, you won't be able to equip it. Your other choice is to kill kill kill until something dies and coughs up a weapon you can use. Nice if the mob obliges, but they rarely do. :p

This may seem silly but make sure you didn't unequip and the weapons aren't in your bags. Other possiblity is that you acidently sold to vendor. If that is the case make sure you check the do not sell buttton next time you are at the vendor window. Yes do check broker and crafting channels for new weapon.

Freeport also has brokers in the tradeskill instances. They are just down at the bottom of those dungons

Thanks for the suggestions, very much appreciated as I didn't know crafted are better choices. But yes, I intend to make sure I didn't pull a boo-boo and accidentally put them in bank or up for sale first, lol. Gahhhh...

Unfortuantely I don't know of anyone who can make a weapon for me. I have chosen to become a harvester and my guild is very small, only two (including myself) are ever on much at all. The player who helped me get started equipped my avatar with vendor weapons, I do think.

If I have to buy a vendor weapon on my own, the only one I could see even near to suiting me was possibly a carbonite parrying blade as primary even though it's a level 20 weapon, it wouldn't be long till I level up enuf to use it, and a kai as secondary... What are your thoughts about those? Anyone ever use them? Thanks...

What's more important to you is the stats on it -- and for a conjuror, INT is the most important thing to look for, since more INT means a bigger power pool for you and also higher spell damage. Also, as a mage, you can't use any secondary weapon at all, you are limited to symbols in your second hand (or I think a very few items that count as shields), or using a 2-handed weapon that requires both hands.

I suggest you have a read over this post which has a section on weapon choice and will also explain what stats you should be looking for: http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...=346645#3933119

The FAQ post at the top of this forum may be helpful too: http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=346645

In general if you're looking for a crafter, the easiest ways are to ask in the chat channels (and there should be a Qeynos crafting global chat channel you can join too if you want - right-click your chat window menu bar and go into Chat Options). Or, use your search tool to look for woodworkers. You can bring up this tool by opening your friends window (Y) and on the second tab, you can select classes and levels etc. to search for. Yes, since you're 18 already, it may be worth looking into a level 20 weapon since you will probably level up pretty fast. For a conjuror, your pet does most of your damage anyway so the weapon isn't critical (but do upgrade that pet spell).

The main consideration for a conjuror when picking a weapon, besides the INT on it, is just whether any of your Achievement choices require a particular weapon type. At 18 you probably haven't earned enough achievement points yet to limit you to one type of weapon or another but that will be something to consider in the future (achievements can be viewed in your Skills window, L).

I have a lvl 68 Wizard, a lvl 51 Illusionist and lvl 30 somthing Conj and find that weapons for actually hitting are meaningless. Absolutely go for INT with your weapon. As you get to the higher levels and decide on an AA path choice of weapon may effect which line you choose but I dont worry about having a melee weapon most of the time, cause if they are close enough to hit you will die. Root is your friend as is your pet.

Thanks all! Oh and another thing which occurred to me was that whether they had been taken by magic, someone on a spirit steed was hanging around me yesterday, and zapped me with some kind of very brief spell but not a combat sort, just curious as I haven't had a chance yet to doublecheck my bank holdings or sales logs...

It gives you a nice speed boost to make running around on foot all day a little less weary on the feet. I always enjoy the gesture cause its no benefit to them.. just a kind act.. or pity for those who don't yet have steeds.

You're right, that does ring a bell, I do remember something about a speed boost... if whoever it was that did it and happens to read this, thank you!
