Cancelling EQ2 - Help to keep characters

Hi all, Im cancelling my account for several months and i dont want to lose my characters. How long EQ2 keeps the characters so i can get them as soon as i get back??...i really hope they keep them form a while because ill be out for 4 months <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> thanks Harlekin, Swashbuckler extraordinaire <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

Well the first time I took a break it was 7 months and my characters were still there. Second time I took a break for 6 months and they were still there. So I am pretty sure yours will still be there.

<p>I was gone for nearly 10 months due to hurricane katrina. All my toons were still there waiting for me.</p><p>I really dont think their going to delete any of your toons considering the all time low of eq2 players. I did read somewhere that they reserve the right to do it and blah blah blah. But I assure you that your toons will still be here in 6 months.</p>

<p>The only time I've ever heard of SoE deleting characters was when they did some server merges.  They only deleted characters that were under level 10 and hadn't been played in something like 6 months.</p><p>I don't think you need to worry.</p>

I didn't play EQ1 for 2 years and my characters were still there... They don't like to delete characters because it could put players off returning to the game.

Um..I created my first character in 2005.  I then canceled my account.  I reactivated 3 weeks ago and he was still there.  That is almost 2 years.  I dont think they have enough people playing this game to purge the characters.

i don't think it has anything to do with the population of the servers.  he only time I have seen SOE purge chars is during server merges.  This s both EQ live and EQ@.  Also it was always low levels that got purged.  So to the OP you should be fine and you chars should be ready and waiting for you when you get back.
