I was playing earlier when suddenly I received a notice that I had mail. None of my guild was on except for me, and I couldn't think of anyone else who would send me mail, so I thought someone had mistyped some other character's name. But no, it was spam advertising plat. I've pretty much gotten used to getting sent /tells about farmed gold and powerlevelling and all that ****. But this seems like a new low to me. I get enough spam in my real email box. I don't want to get it in game too. Plus I play on Antonia. If I wanted to do that kind of ****, I'd be on the Bazaar server instead.

Old news.. this has been going on for quite some time. Just flip on your Anon or RP tag and you'll be relatively free of any /tell or email spam until a permanent fix is implemented.

You may still recieve spam "mails", but I assure you the /tells will be reduced if not eliminated.</p><p>To the OP yes this is old news. Just like getting junk mail in your mailbox in real life. Wad them up and toss them away.</p><p>Dont be so anxious to drop whatever it is your doing just to check your mail box. It can and will wait.</p>

<p>There's a nice little 'spam' button for the mail ones. </p><p> And yeah, I've actually recieved MORE of the tell spam when anon/roleplay than when not so I don't even bother with that anymore.</p><p>Good news is I've only recieved one in 3 weeks on any of my characters.  </p>

At the bottom of the mail is a 'report as spam' option which you can use to report any spam mails so they can be dealt with by customer service.  Unfortunately it's a growing problem in all games, it's an ongoing struggle to address it.

I've received zero spam /tells and absolutely zero spam emails since I turned on the Anon tag. Prior to that I was getting 2 to 3 tells a day and perhaps 1 or 2 emails a week. Granted I use the RP tag for its original purpose.. the lack of /tells & email solicitations is just gravy. <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Edit: I just read another post to which somebody mentioned that the spam is worse on some servers than others. Perhaps that's the reason I'm rarely if ever bothered by it since I play on a PvP server. I doubt there are many plat farming bots, if any, on Venekor. They'd be fodder inside of 15 minutes since you can kill them where we come from!!! XD

I meant the RP flag.. On a PvP server.. /anon makes it necessary for people out hunting to actually visit the zones for victims vs. scrolling through a list at their convenience. I'm a role player.. so I started using the RP flag as soon as I found out it was available to me.
