When a high level character mentors a low level character, how much extra experience (percentagewise) does the low level charcater get? Does the higher charcter benefit in any way?

If nothing else, the character who mentors will be able to get experience from (previously) gray quests/mob.

1st mentor gives 5% bonus, 2nd mentor gives 4%, etc. If you have 5 people mentoring you you get 15% bonus.

And as the prior poster stated -- a mentored toon can now get xp/loot and aaxp for quest completion from previously gray things. Plus a mentored toon tends to be more powerful due to having additional spell lines not normally available at that level, better gear that doesn't quite scale down as far, etc.

Also, mobs are more likely to drop good chests when the players in the group are not too high... so the groups who choose to mentor will have a better chance at good loot. I'm not sure what formula is used, though, or whether there's any point in mentoring lower than the mob you're trying to kill.
