Making things go boom, and burn through mobs healthbars like nobody's buisness. Making other classes look boring in comparision is also fun of course

goboy wrote:

Blowing stuff up.

Thats my reasons too, for rolling a wizard, but I've also found out warlocks are good at doing that also, I need to get around to rolling another toon so I can have a warlock.

Looking above a monster's head and seeing a number over 20,000. Though i may agree with the guy above, could be aggression from my days getting beat on as a paladin.

I just love to mentor. I also love to kill group encounters. I and i love being top dps on the zone parse( even if its not 100% correct) and well this was before life burn..

I love trub and furys in my group.. I love corcers, swashy and dirges in the mt group. I love brigs and illus in the raid I also like pallys in my group but they seem to die sometimes... so a gardian is fine by me. A warlock is nice also.. But i am not happy about all the support classes we need to play in a raid tho...

Main thing tho I am so powerfull when mentored i can put out insane dps even for a little lvl. Whole encounters go up in smoke with the right combo of spells.

Manaburning a x2 mob when you are in a x4 raid seeing how fast it goes down and how big you can hit it. That's fun and always makes me smile.

4K DPS suck it Scouts! Always parse when you do this and rub it like you can do it every mob. Stupid Scouts.

Upgrade your spells, get better gear. There is nothing more to soloing really that Root/mez, Nuke, repeat.

Soloing is all about root management and knowing when your root is most likely to break.

Try to use as few spells as possible, and use those with better power/dmg ratio. If you can limit yourself to only using the single-target root, comet and perhaps a hex doll, that's as manaefficient as you can get, unless the recast on the root screws that up at that level. Bring a few health and mana potions too until you get the hang of it, and if you're confident you can keep it rooted, convert some health into mana. (When I first started doing nameds in the high 40's, I would often finish the fight with less than 10% health without the mob having touched me)

I love every aspect of being a wizard (most has been said above, so I'll refrain from repeating it). As far as the last few posts are concerned, I thought I'd share my casting order for solo heroic mobs - it is risky but works more often than not - as food for thought; this order does not require any AA-abilities, though they can be easily integrated (as shown below with Freehand, for example): Pre-buff with everything I have -> Target mob -> Stand at maximum range -> Root -> Hex Doll -> Surging Tempest -> Root -> Dispel Arcane -> Icicles -> Group root (Ring of Cold at your level) -> Freehand (if you have it) -> Ice Comet -> Root -> Icicles -> Ball of Incineration -> Flamestrike (debatable)/Iceflame (if mob has moved closer) -> Paralyze -> Root -> Icicles -> whatever is up, i.e., Ball of Incineration again (the mob is usually dead at this point anyway) It is obviously not completely risk-free, as DoTs are known to break roots, but nine times out of ten it will work - if all the spells are Adept3 or better (which they should be anyway). I'm sure every wizard will have their own way of going about it and there are certainly less risky or quicker methods, but I have found this casting order (allowing for modifications depending on what happens during the fight) to be very reliable, slow but reliable. BTW - Your best bet is to dismount whatever mount you are on because you may need to back up (quickly). Good luck - you can do it!

Like i said, get better gear. 17k manaburns means less than 4k mana at 50. which means you have no int. get 400+ int and see if you still have trouble. and upgrade your spells. Unless you chain resist, theres no way you shouldn't be able to solo anything ^^^ lower level than you. (unless it heals/ casts)
