<p>I am normally play a ranger so this is a big departure for me. I need any advice on Gear/spell use that will help me with leveling. I know this is a broad question but there is no Sticky for a general ill guide i had when i was a novice ranger. So any help/ advice is appreciated. <p>While levelling up, you can wear common crafted armor and jewelery if you want as long as they have INT. Try to get your spells at Adept III if possible. If you are low on cash, focus on getting master personnae, root, mez, stun, and prismatic. You will do just fine with Adept 1 spells if you can't afford better.</p><p>Intelligence is your primary stat. Subjugation skill is your primary skill. Items that buff intelligence and/or subjugation are your primary focus.</p><p>For every-day solo mob grinding, you send in your pet and add damage via nukes and DoTs. For multi-mob encounters, you group mez them and kill off each mob one-by-one. For soloing the really hard mobs, you send in your pet and call it off before it dies, mez the mob and wait for your pet to regain health (or resummon a new pet).</p><p>There are many ways to win an encounter and the illusionist class is one of the most diverse classes in the game. Learn your spells and formulate/experiment your own tactics.</p>
