Hi all, Sorry as I bet this question is asked a lot of times but as I have a wife (she cons red everytime I play) and 2 kids to look after I don't have the time I would like to scour the boards. What I need is a class that can solo well and can take on groups of mobs, but also can hold its own at PvP. Atm I have a 26 monk but he seems to get owned all the time even by 3-4 levels below. This is my only toon and so I am starting from scratch so I don't have Fable or Master items so is it I just suck or do people have some great twink gear? (Okay I suck) Anyway are wizzies good for this as I have always liked wizzies but the swashbucker also appeals. I am not a fan of green loving toons (druids etc) however I hear they are very good PVP. I know I am asking for the ultimate class and to most who can play their class well, every class fits the bill however I need a class that doesn't have much down time due to my limited hours I can play. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Love ya all. Solo

On the pvp servers, mastercrafted is the norm, anything better is the twink.

Monks as well as bruisers are good solo classes. Your problem is very simply gear. As stated above mastercrafted armor and adeptIII spells/combatarts is the norm. Neither of these requires having a higher lvl toon to twink your guy out.

Just spend several nights that you would have spent playing going around and harvesting. Then you can sell the rares you dont need, and find some tradeskillers who will make your mastercrafted armor/spells with the ones you need.

As for the best class...people who are good at the game will tell you that their class is the best, and people who arent will claim it is whatever class they think kills them the most.

Sure some classes have advantages over the others (Ive heard swash, ranger, assy, brig, fury, warden, sk, etc... apparently half the classes are insanely overpowered lol), but in the end its whatever class you enjoy playing the most.

If you have limited time to play, you may want to consider rolling on Vox since you can make use of the exchange service there to have an easier time gearing yourself up (I have limited time to play and I found that Vox suits me well.)

In terms of the class to play - like you noted any class is good to the person who knows how to play it. But if you are looking for a class where you don't have to work hard to be good, then roll a Brigand or Swashbuckler. Those are the "easy-mode" pvp classes in that they are scout classes with track and evac, wear chain armor (so have decent mitigation) and later down the line will gain deadlier attacks that make them easy to "win" with in PvP.

But, if you would like a little challenge, and if you don't mind working at it a little, then Bruiser/Monk is nice as a solo class. So is Fury or Warden if you're looking to have healing abilities. A Conjuror or a Necro would be good as you can have a pet tank for you. Wizards are nice if they're twinked out, but they're not called "glass cannons" for nothing.

Get some mastercrafted armor, a few pieces of jewelry and some adept III's and you will think you are playing another class....its that drastic of an improvement. They can take a heck of a beating and dish out one as well

Hey, that's weird Gildorath, you keep saying those are the classes to play on the pvp server... but your ranger fed my wiz faction a few times!! To the OP, if you have the time to re-roll, I would suggest a scout, mostly for the track and stealth and I think you will have an easier time of it, especially if this is a little bit new to you. Good luck

Well, its a good class. the brig is mediocre up until t6.

It is you Gildorath that needs to learn to read. I did not see the word wizard in your post, cos you did not mention it. You mentioned a few classes and you said it was pointless to roll anything else. I am saying you are WRONG, as my wizard has owned every class so far. Including your ranger. When you were yellow to me. Have a nice day

Wow now theres a big suprise. Level 17 owning doesnt count for [Removed for Content], when you unlock we will see how well your wizard does. Wizard is not on the list for a reason and you owning new players with getto gear hardly counts as uber.

Heh, I thought you were [Removed for Content] out on yer ranger. Owned imo, cry more. Oh wait, every 2nd thread is you crying. Cry less! 2 of 3 toons in my sig are the "powerhouses" in your opinion. But we are talking about my wiz! lol Oh, and I have a 36 (or 37) wiz too. Wanna 1 v 1?
